Some of the kites being flown off Citadel Hill today were insanely high (this is my largely failed attempt to capture them…with the eye of faith one might make out a couple of tiny dots.)
For fancy shoes, I love Fluevogs. The generous toe bed and wide heel on a lot of them mean a truly surprising degree of comfort despite a bit of heel. I can do clinic all day and run to emergencies in them, and my feet don’t hurt.
Then on to Dalhousie’s concert hall for a friend’s recital! 🎶 (Said friend has a sense of humour…)
Attended the memorial for Scritchy Raccone, advocate for safe streets and victim of the #PylonWars. #BikeHFX
A long day of operating today, but timing of case turnover meant I managed to catch the last few minutes of the livestream of Sarah Mullally’s installation as the first female Archbishop of Canterbury. 🥰
Back at the symphony, with @affabletoaster.bsky.social! Symphony NS presents: Star Wars vs. Star Trek. 🚀🎻😊
The Side by Side concert with Symphony Nova Scotia and the NS Youth Orchestra is about to start! They’re playing Berlioz’s Symphonie fantastique. 😊
Man, I wish the Long John Index guy was still around to provide comment.
Great fun tonight at @criticalmasshfx.bsky.social Hallowe’en party bike ride! Fabulous tunes, with Spider-Gwen, ET, unicorns, Paw Patrol, Tinky-Winky, Neo, HRM Transit buses and more making an appearance. 😄
Energetic and moving Maritime Fusion concert tonight with Symphony Nova Scotia, Jah’Mila’s Reggae Roots. Powerful voice, powerful lyrics, great show! (I think there are still tickets available for tomorrow night, #HaliSky…😘 )
Final hymn at St. George’s Anglican this morning was one of my favourites, both due to the melody (Orlando Gibbons!) and because it now always reminds me of the time @drericlevi.bsky.social came to visit St. George’s, during his year in Halifax, and tweeted about it. 😊 #music #choir
I took the 80 bus to Bayers Road Shopping Centre in the mid-80s, browsed the stores with friends, occasionally bought a cute notebook with a horse, unicorn or Hello Kitty on it, or an Orange Julius. Once, bought this lovely little cloisonné ring that I still own. #nostalgia
Had a delightful time at my first Critical Mass ride with @criticalmasshfx.bsky.social! 🚲 Lovely to get together with both old friends and some #BikeHfx folks I’ve previously only encountered online. We couldn’t have asked for a better evening. 😊
