Fair play to opponent 2 and his chaos dwarves, he is not playing a boring stallball game The Bull Centaurs are going for every touchdown they can as fast as they can, including an amazing interception before the end of half one.

Game 1 was vs Chaos Chosen, represented by this lovely Greebo Games piggy team I got my ass kicked 3-1, with the last Chaos touchdown squaked on in the last turn. Five Elves in Casualty box and one sent off for a not-quite-impressive-enough foul on the Gre.

Its that time of year again! Glasbowl V, the local Blood Bowl tournament. This time I brought Elven Union. I have managed the wooden spoon on two of four years. Can I make this year the hat trick and get it named the George Quail Memorial Wooden Spoon On the bright side I did get pretty dice

Two six sided dice in a vaguely translucent green. The 6 is replaced with an image of the head of a Goblin wearing a traffic cone on his head, in the style of Glasweigans "coning" statues. The Goblin has 2026 in small writing by his head to mark this is the fifth year of the tournament.

Glasgow Central Station is still a bit battle damaged from the Union Street fire - and a loud fire alarm test is more cutting noise than I was expecting - but I will be shortly going southbound to #London for a few days. How much money will I waste in the #Transformers store? PLACE BETS NOW!

George - a forty something white guy with messy brown hair, sideburns, a dimple and red Vivianne Westwood glasses with one lens frosted over - is sat at a bench in the middle of Glasgow Central Station amongst other passengers with newspapers, luggage etc.

In the background, metal fencing is up to block the north and east exit due to a major fire on the adjacent Union Street earlier inbthe year. The background includes the expected shops, clock and signage... but also an artillery shell on a plinth, a local landmark.

George is wearing a white T-shirt and a blue jacket. He is staring up at the ceiling, a somewhat pained/tired look on his face, while a fire alarm test is carried out that isn persisting for QUITE SOME TIME.

More #BloodBowl Deathbowl 7s pitch progress - the white lines have been repainted (killing an Uni Posca paint marker in the progress) and some dark earthy splodges have been added to make the pitch look like its seen some action. #warhammer #warmonger #bruhammer

The same pitch as the pictures in the a kve thread. Dark brown patches - with smaller light brown patches in them - are scattered around the field, intensed to resemble vare patches of earth where grass has been worn away through play. The white markings for squares have been redrawn and are brighter

Grass stripes and coloured end zones now added White lines need touching up but the stripes are definitely helping. Next steps - end zone text, payches of mud/blood about the pitch

The previous grass mat pitch (see post 1) but now with alternating light green and dark green rows of squares. The endzones have been coloured- orange on top, black on right, blue on bottom and light grey on left.

The stripes and endzones are obscuring the white pitch marking lines that had previously been added

I had a couple of hours to myself, some paint markers, a steel ruler and a grass mat from Lidl. Here is my WIP bodged together "Deathbowl 7s" pitch for 4 player Blood Bowl

A synthetic grass mat (designed for gardens and conservatories) that is covered in white paint lines and crosses. (Two thicknesses of white paint marker can be seen at the bottom)

The egfect is a cross shaped board for playing "Death Bowl", a four player variant of fantasyvsports game "Blood Bowl", so the markings look like a sports pitch with a central section, four main play areas, "wide zones" to the side and end zones at the end of each leg of the cross

In the dead centre, squares are marked 1 to 8 in a vaguely clock like fashion

....this has big Doctor Blight energy. (Complimentary) OK maybe that's just when I was a kid

Dr. Blight is a middle-aged caucasian female scientist in a pink/maroon spandex jumpsuits with a yellow badge and blue collar/sleeves. Black gloves are barely visible in shot and she is holding some sort of technical gizmo in her hand. (A scifi perfume atomiser perhaps?)

She has chin-length blonde hair with a distinctive white streak of hair acting as a curtain to cover the left side of her face. (The cartoon character is scarred under there which, hmmm, some problematic "facial disfigurements equals evil" stuff going on there)

@obversebooks.co.uk do a great guide book to the topic, also called Downtime. SEE IT'S A PUNE OR PLAY ON WORDS obversebooks.co.uk/product/down... Obverse know their stuff here as they also produce modern incarnations of the same thing - I enjoy their Faction Paradox material.

Others included things like PROBE, a series which was an "X-Files but with Liz Shaw". Common to these is using old Who actors in new roles alongside genuine Who characters, which means there's about 20 people who look or sound like Colin Baker or Sophie Aldred

Listening to Friday's @cheapshow.bsky.social as a Doctor Who nerd took me on a weird sidetrack discovering @e-loud.bsky.social was in a straight to video Wilderness Years project. (Eli has a point, BTW, Paul - it was Downtime, one of only two such videos to ever get an official Who novelisation)

Ensign Beckett Mariner from Star Trek: Lower Decks. (An animated series) a young african-american woman with long black hair in some sort of ponytail, she is wearing a blue/green hospital gown.

...seperated at birth?

Krumm, one of the main characters of Nickelodeon cartoon series "Aaahh!!! Real Monsters!"

An orange lumpy creature with black hairs protruding, including thick underarm hair. He is effectively a head/torso combo on little stumpy legs - his mouth is in the middle of his chest, his nose is st the top of his body.

His eyeballs have no eye sockets and instead are loose - they are being carried in his hands, one in each being held up as though his arms were antenna. His lips are a sickly blue

In his left hand he has a revolver and is pressing it up against his head, his left eye squinting as he brings the barrel to bear. The clear implication is Santa is at least contemplating if not about to carry out suicide by self-inflicfed gunshot. Or as the kids would say these days, "unalive himself".
