The marketing game over at Icelandair is really strong! "This August, Iceland is experiencing a phenomenon like no other: a total solar eclipse. For everyone who might be missing out, we're launching a chance to see the next total solar eclipse in Iceland, taking place in 2196."
The great #DoggoCount began 419 days ago, and today, we hit 4,000 doggos counted! At this rate, we have at least another 600 days before it rolls over at 10,000. My thanks to Angela for all the fun!
I'm anticipating a major #DoggoCount milestone by the end of tomorrow!
Dear American Nerds, That is not a "grey Deadpool" (don't even get me started on "gray Deadpool".) That is a denim Deadpool; or even more correctly, a Canadian Tuxedo Deadpool!
Happy pi Approximation Day! (22/7) And cake is an excellent approximation of pie!
I am writing this on a 15 year old desktop (Feb 2011). It's slow but it works......for now. I worry about its inevitable replacement.
Scandal this morning, in the world of #DoggoCount! I was fooled by a lady walking her cat on a leash. As a result, the next dog seen was not clicked, thus correcting the count. 🐕 🚫 🐈 (for the purpose of this count only, not in general.)
Angela just gave me a lovely gift. These are cufflinks, with copper from the Canadian Parliament's roof! But they only sell these as lapel pins, so Angela took two to a local jeweler and had them fitted to cufflink posts. An incredibly thoughtful gift, perfect for me. Just like her.
One year ago, Angela gave me this clicker to count all the dogs I see in my travels. I had no idea that I see almost ten dogs a day! #DoggoCount
Hey, see the short "RY-467" street-sign-like thing in this front yard? I've seen a couple of them around town. Does anyone know what they're for?
When I came downstairs this morning, I found this fellow napping in the backyard.
I'd not heard of olla watering pots before; an unglazed clay pot that you bury in your flower bed that slowly allows water to seep out to your plants' roots. The amazing potter @horuseyepottery.bsky.social made these for us! Angela started adding plants (and ollas) to our raised bed this morning. 😁
As many young people are off to prom tonight, here's a throwback to mine!
Today's kit is the last for a while. I'll start wearing linen short sleeve shirts, which means no ties or cufflinks until the autumn.
I am currently not in Sweden, Denmark, nor Iceland, and it really shows. One year ago:
I completely failed to post yesterday's kit, so here it is with today's.
