In my response to the King’s speech, I will be raising the issue of the environment and how the climate crisis impacts on every aspect of our lives. We need to take decisive action now, to mitigate the damage and suffering that climate change is going to cause.

The Global Sumud Flotilla - 70 vessels, 3,000 people, including 1,000 medical professionals - was seized while delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza. The UK government must call this out as illegal and act now to protect all those on board, including British citizens.

Extending nationally significant infrastructure status to more projects risks shielding damaging developments from proper scrutiny. The Wirral Peak cluster CCS project could cause immense environmental harm. It should not be protected in this way.
