Darkened the skin and eyes, added the scar and stubble, and some shadows under the hair. Also the hair itself. Mostly cut from Cloud's but will need a bit of filling in and tidying up.
Feeling optimistic about the project at the moment though, so much so i started trying to cut off the asymmetric sleeve from Cloud's outfit. Going to need a bit more work. 🤭
Clive's hair is a lot more loose and downward than Cloud's blonde spikes, so not sure how it will go, but would like to avoid having to sculpt the entire thing by hand. He's also going to need a bit more of a tan!
Having already decided to start with his fellow protagonist, the most important thing was to establish if the hair would look right. After that, everything else could follow. Like with Warhammer builds, I decided to try to use as much as I already had available before cracking out the greenstuff.
I think he must have been on a windowsill, as he seems a little faded, though he is a pale boy anyway. After his initial bath to clean him up I discovered that the glue had died, inviting me to remove the loose components. This included the pockets on his combats, but more importantly, the hair.
Different kind of conversion project in the works over here at the moment- I was disappointed to find the FFXVI Play (Bring) Arts figures are half the size of the older ones I have, so am doing a test to see if I can fix that... by further ruining a damaged Cloud I rescued(?) from eBay.
Painted some more basic lands. Turns out they're quite nice little projects that I can just kinda chill out with.
Had a couple of old Basic Land Forest cards. Coloured them in. Don't look as good all zoomed in, but then I should be used to that from mini painting, eh? Was a nice little afternoon project, might do some more.
I was looking for photos of Jeff Be'lakor, but can't find them. (@realironhand.bsky.social might be able to help?) I did however find Clive, who I think still counts. 🔥
Liked the longer neck option, with the old dragon head, charybdis / hydra bits, and the TK dragon's lower jaw.
Mystery legs! Been keeping these for something- about time I found them a suitable top half. Probably a Vampire or a Dark Elf, what do we think?
Hey all, selling my Eldar army, including the fancy Wraithknight and Avatar of Isha I built. Thanks. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/13716823...
Sorting out some bits boxes. Found this horse. Kinda have to fix it, right?
Something I've been up to recently is painting on Magic cards. I've built a Witcher themed Commander deck, and realised it didn't have an Arcane Signet in it. As I didn't have a spare one handy, I had a go at fixing that. (I made two so I could pick my favourite - it's the 2nd one.)
When @spider-father.bsky.social inspired me to make a Transformers themed Imperial Knight, and the colour scheme decided itself when I looked into the face under kit's different mask options. 🐝 Painting the little hex patterns and designing the heraldry was fun too.
The time I found a new use for all those spare bits I wasn't sure I'd use. I did a few of these for various factions, the trick was getting a deep enough frame, and laying it all out first. 🤞(Sold)
The pixel camo I painted for a friend on their Aeldari jet plane. Not sure if it counts as a Crimson Hunter when it's not red... 🤔
That time I made Custodian Guard out of spare weapons and Stormcast Eternals. (Sold)
When I made the Avatar of Isha, to stand beside my Avatar of Khaine. Shout out to @brynthewizard.bsky.social for Celestine's doves and @pandaemoniumminiatures.com for the spare spear. 🤘😉 She's mostly made of Drycha, with a few other elf kits for details.
The time I painted a Balrog and decided flame effects were fun, I should do more of those... 🤭🔥
Possibly the only photo I have of this Knight pilot / engineer kicking back with a cuppa. Pretty sure he's @nerodine.bsky.social 's problem now.
Senna vs Thresh from League of Legends (Also built from Warhammer spares, obvs.) Thresh is mostly Stormcast, with a Kurnoth Hunter's head, and some Nighthaunt keys. Senna is mostly elf bits, with Stormcast weapon pieces for her enormous gun. Little lost soul is from the bottom of a Morghast's wings.
