Book 42: The Brothers Karamazov, by Fyodor Dostoyevsky Hurrah for Karamazov! Dramatic, soapy even. Philosophical, but not nearly as difficult as I thought it’d be. Actually kind of fun. These Russians knew how to have good time with plot.
I got to visit the library at the Obama Presidential Center today to drop off some materials. This whole place is absolutely incredible. But I want to live forever in the President’s Reading Room.

Book 24: The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, by Taylor Jenkins Reid This is a soapy, twisty romance set in the glitzy, unscrupulous Hollywood of the 50s and 60s and beyond. Not bad, but still not Daisy Jones.
Update: I was only a little weird. Isn’t it great when a brilliant writer is also an absolutely delightful human?
