GreyDuck
@greyduck
Just a little grey duck in a big grey world. He/him. (Not to be mistaken for ho/hum.) If I have a "main topic" it's the game #Satisfactory. My main textual output is (or should be, if I'm behaving myself) over at my not-a-blog:
Got a new lamp (standing floor lamp instead of tiny shelftop lamp) for the office, which prompted me to rearrange the display level of a couple of my shelves. It's just a *skosh* snazzier in here now.
Those of you still using Google Apps-or-whatever for your family email plans (don't judge me, I won't judge you), have your admin pop into the control UI and make sure *all* of the various GenAI options are "off" for all the various bits. They're opted-in by default. Of course.
Was this the *most efficient* way to get down to the canyon floor from the top of the cliffs? Oh, definitely not. Was it the *funniest* way? Heck yeah, that's part of why I did it. #Satisfactory
A really solid session tonight, even though I almost literally did nothing but run train lines. I completed the 'round-the-map loop, though, and that's not nothin'. Also Nyx got her Crystal Os site under way, and Spud is laying the groundwork for the nuclear power we need (very much).
Good news! Nobody's game crashed this time! We all had to make some settings adjustments, but other than that: Smooth sailing. Whew.
Oh goodness gracious 1.2 has some multiplayer ISSUES right now. We ended up bailing early because one of us couldn't even build things, even after a full game restart. (Which means it was a problem on the host end.) Might have to put this on hold until we see some encouraging patch notes.
This was one of those "make lots of machines but nothing fancy to show for it" sessions, but it was all work that needed doing. Soon we'll have fast shiny glowy belts, though!
Welp. Time for a whole new way of dealing with kingdom progress in #GemsOfWar. A shakeup of some kind is long overdue for this decade-or-so-old game, but how did they do? Guess I'm finding out.
My main accomplishment was automating Explosive Rebar... after first actually researching it. (Whoops.) Spud and Nyx finished up the "Megadrone" SAM supply-and-storage system, so they definitely put in more useful work this week!
I completed a prerequisite for building a munitions factory, Spud went on an exciting resource-acquisition adventure, and Nyx built SO MANY DRONE PORTS.
For once I was *not* the God of Trains. Spud took on that role, plus building a Packaged Rocket Fuel site. I was the God of Drones, while Nyx was the Goddess of... fixing my beltwork mistake, among other things. (Whoopsie.) But we've got Phase 4 products largely completed! Next up: MOAR POWER.
Oh hey, look what showed up! #SideQuested It's a lovely tome. I was expecting it to be taller, but like Robin it packs a lot of punch into a smaller space.
I now make "Time Crystals" in my solo #Satisfactory save. Hopefully tomorrow morning I'll get the "Ficsite Trigons" production working...
I have half of what's needed for Nuclear Pasta, after placing 32 copper refineries and various whatnot. A heavy-lifting session, for sure. But, progress!
In this house we stan... well, *several* anime lesbian gremlins, but one in particular:
Just watching for the drone that's going to bring in the last shipment of Thermal Propulsion Rockets so I can send up the Phase 4 products and be *done* with this part of the game. Watching. And waiting. Patiently. Very patiently. #Satisfactory
We made *huge* progress. For instance, I'm better-than-halfway on my Heavy Modular Frames factory. (The goal is nearly double-digit production, so... yeah, it's *big*.) Also, I didn't win the photo shoot contest but I'm proud of my result anyway, so, here:
We all worked on separate projects (mostly) but we also all made progress while also (also also) indulging in the occasional distraction. It's fun! Next time: Production shall ensue.
I miss RWBY Chibi. "And nothing bad ever happened. EEEEEVERRR HAAAAAPENED."
Played some #Satisfactory to unwind after a *weird* work week. This weekend I hope to at least have my 2nd (was supposed to be 1st) Rocket Fuel power plant producing fuel. Placing the 144 generators will take... some time. But that's a Tomorrow!Me problem.
In the end-of-session photo shoot only one of us truly expressed how we're all feeling at this point in The Year Of Our Glorb Twenty Twenty Six. (Hint: It's the one collapsed in a heap on the walkway.)
Sure, I used that "my9games" thing to generate an image, why not. It's late and I'm tired and yes, I deliberately left off a couple of particular titles for various reasons. Ask tomorrow get different answers maybe.
A bit of a "just get this built, dammit" slog but we powered through. And now we have goal reminders, saving us entire seconds in the future that might've been spent asking, "Now *what* was I doing, again...?"
