Full time. Zero attempts. Zero. Some effort to brawl their way through an entire game of football from Argentina.
Literally nothing meaningful has happened in that first half, but I actually quite enjoyed it. It feels like a proper derby that's on the edge of spilling over and has been since the 3rd minute. Quite nice watching a game like this without being on the verge of spilling over myself.
Still can't believe they brought Matt Ryan off the bench purely for the penalties when he might be the only professional goalkeeper on Earth with smaller arms than Jordan Pickford. Honestly, look at the size of him in that goal. Like a Borrower. Not only that, but he went early, every, single, time.
The ticketing site is an absolute shitshow ready for the new season then. As night follows day. #LFC
Climbed a mountain today with this pair. 6 years old and they both completed something a lot of adults (including a number we saw today) struggle with. Unbelievably proud of them both. ❤️
You've done very well there! I saved a BB for this week, thinking it could be a differential, but it's looking like a real bust right now...
Took the wee lads to a #LFC academy day yesterday. Their first question: "Will Arne Slot be there?"
Not often my gobshitery is proven correct, but I'll take this one. Having a lovely afternoon following up with all the Mancs who scoffed at the time. #LFC
Also; Side note: Nike are knocking out Lego 110's. Unsure how I feel about this.
Currently at Seaworld with the wee fellas. Jamie [looking at picture of shark]: "I want to know how they even take pictures of sharks, because phones aren't water proof...and sharks EAT YOU" *Concerned Face*
Took a ride up here today. First visit since I was here backpacking in 2010. Slight aside; 50c for any public transport journey across Queensland. Can't grumble at that really, can you.
Looks a lot nicer than it did yesterday. A City (and Forest, and Leeds) win tomorrow/Monday, please. #LFC
I'll be interested to see how many big chances PSG had there tonight. As at HT, it felt like we got through as much due to their lack of ruthlessness rather than our solidity. Created absolutely nothing as well. Needed far more from the front players. There's a chance, but it feels very slim. #LFC
Gotta be honest, I wasn't expecting to turn up tonight and hear about ten pin bowling at the White House. Brilliant, as always. @knoxharrington.bsky.social @theanfieldwrap.bsky.social #LFC
...and they score with their first shot (how many teams have done that this season now). It's a lovely finish from Kerkez to get us level, after a gift from them, but that was more or less it from a #LFC perspective. The second half was as limp as we've seen all season.
I'd be intrigued to see what that dynamic between Rafa and Jürgen would look like. Also, I have a further proposal...
Found this in the back of the wardrobe earlier. Never been worn. It still irks me that we didn't get to wear that World Champions crest during the season, and then almost immediately the fuckers changed the rules. #LFC
I always said when we moved to Australia that I'd make a point of never becoming blind to views like this. I still have to pinch myself sometimes that this is where we live.
Impossible not to enjoy Adidas leaning right into the classic/retro kits in a big way. They've nailed this one (and the home, too). #LFC
Had a couple of these the other week. Didn't think it was too bad. In linked news, I also tried this last weekend and it was possibly the best 'zero' I've had, so far...
I understand that he's trying to make the point that we have limited time to prepare between games and that's a contributory factor to our poor form on the back of CL fixtures this season, but his reference here is just patently incorrect. This is the league table the day we got knocked out by PSG:
Seeing lots of chat on Slot's press conference. In general I'm in favour of not dissecting things football manager's say, not least b/c they have to speak so often there's always likely to be something to disagree w/. That said, the one piece that I just thought was bizarre in so many ways was this:
The greatest sitcom ever made. I've watched it so many times I can recite full episodes, and yet they still make me laugh. One of the marks of genius is how the show routinely incorporated emotion whilst maintaining the humour. The only black mark is it should've concluded with Time On Our Hands.
I like him and he's the sort of player I could absolutely see us being interested in. Surprised to see he's only 24 as well (25 in April). Age point is pretty spot on. That's *a lot* of hamstring injuries, though...
