Have only just noticed that the watch i bought of vinted a few months ago is engraved. Similar feeling to buying a comic that has been signed for someone else.
Working over a black&white page printed on orange paper has worked really, really well. Making it work in the context of a printed comic will be a nightmare, mind you.
Turns out it's don't have any memes saved but I do have passive aggressive photos I've sent to my kids telling them to either put things away, or into the dishwasher
Am reading this at the moment. Haven't got to 'Down Below', Carrington's autobiography yet, and think that will be quite a lot. But the short stories that precede it, truly surreal, hilarious and disturbing, are worth reading and re-reading.

10 copies of Vortices for @arcfestivallondon.bsky.social Vortices uses text from 'Sensitive Chaos', a philiosophical/scientific book about the relationship of water and air and deeply personal annotations from one of my copy's previous owners. That's what it is... what it's *doing* is... I dunno.
More important advice: If you're going to reproduce the cover to every copy of a comic by hand make sure it's easy and you don't have problems holding your attention.

'Between Teeth' has been sat untouched for three years, half finished. Was originally for @douglasnoble.bsky.social's Pocket Chiller series. Basically what happened is that the ending was so bleak and full of self-loathing that it stopped being relevant once the fluoxetine started working.
Still working on this Cave thing. I am getting... antsy?...to work on something different for a few days.
Brand new and for sale at the @cartooncounty.bsky.social Market Takeover tomorrow - Vortices. Each copy has a hand produced tracing paper cover. The interiors are more complicated to explain than the Internet has room for.
Printing on tracing paper did NOT work so I've done a version on paper and it looks OK. I might take my time now though, slow the process right down and really nail what I want to achieve.

Facebook has reminded me that 14 years ago I exhibited a life-size papier mache Batman costume thing lined with abstract comic pages in the vacated Barclays bank in Chelmsford. Theoretically it was wearable (the 'fists' had handles in them which could be held) but the cowl was nailed to the wall.
Scanned all of the tracing paper sheets used in that booklet on the weekend. Still need to letter in the text I've sourced for it. Because I'll be printing this onto tracing paper this single image will actually be four pages of the comic, with extra volume coming in from the pages behind.
