I constantly get asked what the oldest printed book in my shop is, here it is again. A Hyakumanto Darani, or the One Million Pagodas and Dharani Prayers), Printed Circa 764-770. A rare, surviving example of the oldest tracable publication in the world.

As booksellers and collectors, sometimes we make impulse and unusual purchases for the store. Do I NEED almost 30 Welsh Bibles? No. But its hard to turn down the opportunity when it randomly presents itself.

I have bought and sold quite a few rare occult text over the years. Iamblichus, De Porta, Agrippa, and more. However, a manuscript edition of The Prophecies of Nostradamus, produced in 1684 and copied from a 1568 edition? Well now..... that's a first.

Once in a blue moon, I decide to add a book to my permanent collection. This week, it's an 1863 copy of the Dictionnaire Infernal, beautifully illustrated. Sold a fair few copies, happy to have one for myself at last.

I often wonder about certain items which don't sell from prior lists. Example, this Circa 1300, 24 leaf manuscript from the Code of Justinian, with annotations by two medieval owners. Permanently dropping the price on this I suppose! March 31st, 11 AM for Catalog launch.

Haven't really bought too much the last few weeks, so today is a change in pace. 20 original Papal Bulls from the 16th to 18th century, and 10 with original bulla (lead seals) and cords. Now to wait on export licenses!
