It was the early 90's. The Rock station in Tucson would have huge ticket giveaways. The kids were crazy for The Tragically Hip, like Dead-Heads for the Gratful Dead. Like most Americans, I had never heard of them until then. I was surprised by both, how good they are, and how underrated in the US.
