We have powers to work with organisations to make sure they understand the law...says woman who doesn't understand the law, has produced unworkable guidance, and had to bluff her way through select committee hearings with word salads apple.news/AWdugeITDTca...
Slightly overdone it shopping in town today with my daughter but now I have new pJ shorts, new teas and new books - settling in for the perfect evening!
I don't do facebook anymore (and haven't for a long time), but a friend has just reminded me that 7 yrs ago I finished perhaps the hardest physical challenge of my life! Makes me a little sad when I think how unfit I currently am :( And yes, I stopped to put on lipstick for the finish line
Definitely a contender for my book of the year - definitely my book of the year so far. Took a little while for me to get into but once I did I couldn't put it down (I have read most of it this afternoon!) Beautiful and terrible and it made me catch my breath - too much to describe in a skeet:
Mate, if you recovered from burnout in 4 days, it wasn't burnout, you were tired and you needed a holiday!
Trans pride Nottingham 🏳️⚧️ Great turnout - lots of support here 💖
My rose bush was a bit over enthusiastic with its blooms this year - to the point where it was pulling itself over. Bonus cut flowers!
I am very much a dopamine dresser. My youngest son is the type of neurodivergent who likes plain clothes, preferably black I said to him today: I'm your worst nightmare in clothing today aren't I? His response: it's not as bad as a lot of things you wear.
This was the bit that pushed my buttons especially. "Every child"...but not trans children, not the children of immigrants, not disabled and/or neurodivergent children, not children with additional needs... Not children like mine.
It's taken a few years, but the wildflower patches in my garden are REALLY coming into their own now!
This is a still life I have titled "the fascination of a window"
Had an accidental adventure on the way home from therapy. Thought I'd try a different way. This is not exactly "town bike" terrain
Back to England with a bump - landed to 4 degrees and sleet last night. Here are some highlights tho that I will be carrying through the next few months of cold and dark and work 🧵 The volcano (Montana Roja)
Last day of Lanza today - 8.2k swim, and some practice feeding in the water. Been a perfect week of swimming, reading, naps, food and friendship.
First "proper" day in Lanzarote - had to spend all day yesterday sleeping to recover from the flight and just general life. Just shy of 4.5k swum this morning and I am in my mermaid element - sunshine and sea - heaven!
Thanks for the prompt @alanparrywriter.co.uk and @thebrokenspine.co.uk. Made me think about paper crowns and th stresses of December #falsecrowns #poemsabout
Hear me out on this and I know its controversial, but I think we just have to stop men voting. They are doing it wrong.
Having been struggling to write recently, this weeks the poems are creeping back unbidden. This one inspired by this mornings swim and its tranformational impact. Not my poem for #poemsabout but another one that wanted to get out after I'd written my #timeslip poem
Life seems to have been very busy recently and poems have felt slightly out of reach, but they seem to be coming back to me slowly. Thanks for the prompt @alanparrywriter.co.uk @thebrokenspine.co.uk #timeslip #poemsabout
Inspired by today's swim to write this. #poemsabout #poetry #blueskypoets
Eldest says i look "sweet", middle child says I look "like an idiot". Who's right?
Had a good few swimming themed presents today, but I think this just about edges it.
