The photo came out yesterday! I now have a great souvenir of meeting Al after his concert last Sunday in Ottawa! What an experience. Makes me tempted to try and get a VIP pass the next time I get to see him. Maybe that second time I won't be so darn shy!

Still, Al is a very warm and welcoming type, so he makes you at ease pretty quick. I had him sign my Mandatory Fun booklet. My funny quip was "I didn't have a Hawaiian shirt crazy enough, so I accessorized instead!"

Of course, it helps that we could buy a plush with the proceeds going to Gray Paws Sanctuary. This lil' grump has been sitting on my shelf as a memory of one of the best aspects of the fandom. And one of my favorite memories of AnthroCon.

Shout-out to my parody of a clickbait title card that I added to the review of Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters II: Dark Duel Stories that I posted this morning. I just had to indulge in the gag and do this sort of silly thing for once. I pretty much never force clickbaitness onto my stuff anyway.

Writing my review of Free Guy (starting publication this Friday) got me to realize just how many emotional scenes involve Buddy, the security guard played by Lil Rey Howery and Guy's best friend. Dude starts as a comic relief, ends up the one that'll give you so many feels. Repeatedly.

And of course, there's the stuff on other platforms! The physical games are in the picture below, but also included are: WiiWare: La-Mulana GOG: Batman: Arkham Asylum Ubisoft Connect: Starlink: Battle for Atlas, Assassin's Creed III + 4 Yu-Gi-Oh! games off the Early Days Collection...

As per usual, I'm going to edit my Year Plans page to include my new game plans. Starting with the stuff on Steam. I might overshoot (once the non-Steam games are also factored in), but I am still going to try covering as many as possible.

Quebec has a TV tradition called the Bye Bye, a sketch show that airs on Dec. 31st at 11:00 PM and lasts till past midnight, which mocks various cultural and political events of the year. This is probably the best visual to come out this year. (Apologies to those who hate being reminded of him.)

....None of these results are all that surprising, all things considered. The only surprise I can see is that the only cuss on here is "damn", maybe I didn't want to be too vulgar on here so I held back. Also, yep - "review", "game", blog"... I do use Bluesky a lot for self-promo, don't I?

PLANNED ALL ALONG THROWBACK #3 Third review ever on the blog was Desktop Tower Defense, on Nintendo DS; pretty much a Flash game adapted for a portable console. As a fan of the tower defense genre, I had already played this game online, so I was surprised this existed at all.

PLANNED ALL ALONG THROWBACK #2 My second review ever on the blog was Big Brain Academy. At the time, I had come up with a system to cover a bit of everything each time: A GBA game, two DS games, one Wii, then one WiiWare or Virtual Console title, with all that topped by a Top 12 article.

PLANNED ALL ALONG THROWBACK #1 My first review, ever, on the blog was for a crossover of two games: Crash Purple and Spyro Orange. Never heard of them? You're lucky. Despite having a cool crossover concept between Crash Bandicoot and Spyro, these were more minigame collections than platformers.

Not at AnthroCon in person, but there in spirit! Every single time I went to Pittsburgh I had something buffalo-flavored. Buffalo poutine with chicken, from a restaurant near home!

Obviously everyone today is commenting on this and... well, guess I will as well. Considering that in another Tweet Elon heavily implied he tampered with the election where Donald was losing before he interfered... well, if he was hoping to look better in comparison, that fails too.
