A tweenie of the basal human subgroup, having been raised within extensively low gravity environments since a young age; resulting in a dramatically stretched skeleton and dainty extremities.

The name referring to their abundant numbers in colony vessels between planets.

Labeled as “basal” and not “derived” due to a tweenie’s ability to procreate with basal humans.

Amile has curled hair, lightly greasy due to his reliance on alcohol wipes for bathing during his stay within Solar Dissident vessels.

He has thin sideburns and mustache, with a goatee beginning to grow alongside hair down the nape of his neck.

Holy FUCKING shit I finally got a fish analog design I’m happy with, and I’ve sketched out an apex species to go along with the design I got my kryptonite with spec evo projects figured out, now I can go back to writing out the biosphere It’s a bit ugly, but it’s a charming ugly at least to me.

The fish analog of exoplanet Ouroboros, its many species inhabiting the shallow pseudo oceans of the moon in question.

Unique for their thin (in most species) exoskeleton made from a shiny chitin, often black to blend in with the onyx black sea grass meadows that coat the colossal lakes that make up Ouroboros’ oceans.
Though their fins are mainly crystal clear.

Their jaws often resemble pincers of beetles, this particular specimen harkening to the Hercules Beetle (Hence the nickname Hercules Face)

Their eyes are also reminiscent of dragon flies, though are not compound eyes. Just enlarged camera eyes with a glassy outer layer to protect against the murk.

These are not the main ancestor to land vertebrates however, instead belonging to a related clade who have internalized their chitin exoskeleton into a foam framed spine.

Orbiting a gas giant by the name of Angrboda, the exoplanet Ouroboros was cataloged amidst its recovery from a mass extinction just six million years prior.

The devastation having been assumed to be a result of Ouroboros’ own moon, likely only 38 kilometers in diameter, having shattered as it encroached its host planet’s Roche limit.

The rapid speciation brought on by this event would see many novel lifestyles and body plans, with its most iconic being the monopedal genus known as Osmopodia (Thrust-Foot).
This species in particular being named after Weird Al Yankovic, the singer of which the scout intelligence documenting the planet’s ecosystem was practically worshipping during its venture.

Likening to its most common ancestor, the species lacks a through gut and instead relies on a sort of “Y” shaped gut that happens to not only function as its mouth …

But also its anus and reproductive site.
Possibly attributing to the class’ need for a mass extinction to dominate.

Said ancestor has been assumed to resemble a leathery snake with eyes that sat on stalks, lacking the limbs of earth’s first land based vertebrates.
The Osmopodia lineage seemingly has specialized the ancestral spine and spring like muscles into a singular leg, allowing a mode of locomotion not too dissimilar to the kangaroos of earth.

It’s mouth (cloaca?) has elongated and stiffened along the ridge to function as crutch when moving short distances, in a sort of crawling hop.
This particular specimen having large cheek-like resonance chambers to amplify their calls, nature’s cruel joke for making such a phallic face not being lost on our automated explorer.

What appears to be mammalian fur is actually an analog derived from ancestral echinoderm-like bristled spines, herds of other species often brushing against each other to use the other’s hair as an exfoliator.
