/3 The eruption is over and dusk has settled over Kilauea. But the erupted lava is dotting the crater floor with bright red. Not sure what it reminds me of - nothing? - but it is cool. (While still hot.)

Kilauea fountaining started about 100 minutes ago, 4:40 am HST. Best current view is streaming on WebCam1 I think. Only one vent fountaining. www.youtube.com/@usgs/streams Episode 48 in the current eruption. Fountaining will likely stop sometime today—check it out while you can!
Kilauea is "up" to it again. Fountaining started around 1:30 Hawaii time, four hrs + ago. See it while you can; the episodes of fountaining seem to be getting shorter. I esp like the WebCam 3 view right now. www.youtube.com/@usgs/streams

Ancestry.dna just informed me I probably don't have a double toenail. An accessory, tiny nail next to/under the pinkie toe, fairly common among the Han. Almost never causes trouble; not often noticed or counted, but seen to some extent in all populations. "Up to 5% genetic." Why should I care?

Kilauea episode #33 is under way! These lately haven't been lasting long but they CAN be pretty. www.youtube.com/watch?v=fiyt... That's 33 episode in about 9 months, since Christmas Eve, 2024. All confined inside the crater but featuring fountains up to 1000 ft/300 m high.
