I made a tomato tartin with caramelized onion and garlic, and finished it off with basil, fresh mozzarella, balsamic glaze and crispy prosciutto. Just because I could.

Tomato upside down tart as described in the post. The edges are crispy golden pastry with darker trails of caramelized onions, the center has bright green flecks of basil among white chunks of mozzarella and all topped by trails of balsamic glaze and crispy prosciutto.

I was at the library from 10 am until 6 pm. I took a 45 minute break for lunch. I did some non writer email stuff (my kingdom for a dog trainer who can teach us how to get this beautiful monster to stop biting when he wants to play). I wrote 8,500 words. I am still not done with this book.

I'm keeping the door open while I work so the puppy can go in and out, and some neighborhood kids are out on a walk with their dad. Little kids, 4 or 5. Epic or simply too long?

I have written a fantasy book. A big one.

It is in the region of 700,000 words.

It is 109 chapters.

Is this simply too long?

Context. This book was created from collections of stories rewritten into a cohesive storyline.

It seems perfectly natural to me when I read this, but as the writer it would.

I have hopes to look for publishing in the traditional approach. Is the size off putting. Would this simply be rejected on this basis?
