Violet update: Acute heat stress! Doh! Will not be putting it on the windowsill again. 😬🫣

A photo of an African violet plant where the outside leaves in the circle’s edge are faded green that yellows and the inner dark green leaves are curled under (too much water?). The deep purple flowers have turned greyish-light brown near their centres, in less than two days (after being placed on a very sunny windowsill). There are bits of a drape, wall, floor, and a whitish marble tabletop, with a bit of an oxalis plant on another section of the table.

Violet update:

An ebullient African violet plant with a mass of flowers of various vintages, from deep purple velvet petals and sharply yellow contrasting stamens to fading specked lavender old flowers. After March 31, 2026, MSP-funded gender-affirming lower surgeries will no longer be available at GrS Montreal. Gender-affirming lower surgeries will continue to be available through the Gender Surgery Program (GSPBC) in Vancouver.
The information within this document, which explains the closure, is specific to individuals seeking vaginoplasty and vulvoplasty surgeries. This follows a previous closure to the GRS Montreal pathway for phalloplasty and metoidioplasty surgeries, which continue to be available at GSPBC.
The Purpose of this Guide
This guide explains how these changes may affect your access to care, including:
* What happens in different situations, such as if you are seeking a referral to GrS Montreal or waiting for surgery there; and
* Who to contact for more information about the surgical pathway revisions.
Information About Different Situations
I HAVE ALREADY BEEN REFERRED TO GRS MONTREAL.
If you have a complete referral to GrS Montreal by March 31, 2026, you can continue your care there without interruption. A complete referral means:
A completed surgicat readiness assessment from an approved assessor ANI
referral to GrS Montreal from your primary care provides
GrS Montreal will request additional documentation from you and your primary care provider following the receipt of your referral. These documents can be completed after March 31, 2026, and will not impact your ability to access care at GrS Montreal.
If you're not sure whether you have already been referred to GrS Montreal, ask your primary care provider to confirm that your referral and surgical readiness assessment have been sent and
