Unbelievably, the discovery of dead bodies during foreclosure sales is not unheard of.
Foxborough, MA, real estate broker Kenny Olson has spent decades flipping foreclosures. He told the Wall Street Journal that he’d found dead bodies in at least two of the dozens of foreclosed homes he’d purchased.
“Deaths go undiscovered in homes more frequently than you might think,” says Ben Kramer, president and cleanup expert at Bio-One, a decontamination and biohazard cleaning company in Springville, UT. “And what happens after the paramedics and police depart goes far beyond what the average eye can see.”
Kramer tells Realtor.com that if a body has decomposed substantially before being found, there will likely be biological contamination in the flooring, subflooring, and walls. That calls for major remediation.
“This isn’t something that can be handled by typical cleaning crews,” he warns. “In fact, anyone entering the room without proper PPE is putting themselves at risk.”

Having a #girldinner since Chunk asked for pizza leftovers for dinner (which means the stuffed cheesy bread from Dominoes) and I’m not feeling any other leftovers.

Grocery store meat, cheese, and cracker charcuterie with a jar of pickles and a glass of milk sitting on the center console of my pair of recliners.

Or my mom’s tamale pie: I will say that unless the cornbread mixture is really thin it will likely take closer to another 45 minutes to cook through. We always eat it with more shredded cheese, more salsa, and sour cream on top.

Tamale Pie - (misspelled as “Tamalli”)
Cook at 350 for an hour ish
1lb hamburger, 1 cup salsa, 1/2 cup of oatmeal, 1 egg, 1 can sliced olives
Mix ingredients, form into a loaf, place in pan with a 2 in gap all the way around, place in oven. Remove after 45 minutes and drain grease.
Mix 1 box jiffy cornbread mix, 1 egg, 1 can of creamed corn, 1/4 cup of milk, and 1 cup of shredded cheese and place mixture around meatloaf. Return to oven and bake another 15-25 minutes.

Not how I planned on spending my day. Chunk was a bit wheezy today so we went to urgent care. They sent us to the ER in an ambulance. The EMTs were great and gave Chunk a stuffed Dalmatian fire department mascot. Just waiting on the doctor now 🙃

I love lazy mornings 💙 Chunk and I drove back really late from my dad’s last night so we’re just chilling today. I’m reading on the couch and he is cuddled up with a blanket, juice, and animal crackers watching Spidey from his slide.

Just realized that I graduated from Grad school on this day 15 years ago. It feels like a lifetime ago. I definitely had no idea how my path through the world would go. The ideas and dreams I had when this photo was taken seem so long ago and far away.

Chunk and I had a fun adventure day! We hit two of my favorite beaches, had a picnic lunch, walked around an abandoned battery, and grooved out in the car in between. Now he is standing (don’t ask) in the bath making sure his fish toys are clean. All in all a fantastic, unplugged day.
