My new next-door neighbors are cartoonishly disruptive. To them, shutting the door means slamming it so hard every time that MY door shudders, and when they talk, it's so audible that I swear they're lining up on their side of the wall we share and shouting into the drywall. Kill me, please.

DISCLOSURE DAY is brilliant on so many levels. From John Williams' powerfully, deliberately understated score to the acting (HOLY SHIT, Emily Blunt), Spielberg's latest hits nearly every note it needs to and does so with the director's signature depth and sentiment.

Here's a sentence I never thought I'd type: THE SHEEP DETECTIVES is one of my very favorite films of the year so far, and it's not close. The trailers did NOT do this one justice.

Methinks it's haircut time.

HOKUM: An almost-great horror flick with fantastic sound design, some SEARING visuals, and a dynamite performance from Adam Scott. I wish the script treated more of its characters (namely Jerry) as people instead of plot devices/exposition vehicles, but overall, the movie's lots of fun.
