Yesterday I picked up my new to me family hand me down Featherweight from the Sew'n Place quilt shop. They gave it a new foot/power cord, LED light and a proper spa day. It looks beautiful.

Adopted UFO finished quilt. Original creator made the completed top but passed away before finishing. This will be gifted back to the family.

Quilt top was discovered during a shop hop. The kit and panel were from a class that sold out, so I bought the class sample. I used Freemotion quilting with a BSR foot throughout the panel.

After this quilt dries, I just need to chase threads & make a label. My hammock is my favorite place to dry quilts. This was a hand-me-down UFO. I admire the many Y seams. Thanks to those who suggested the tie method. I machine stitched flowers to tac it where you would put ties. #quiltsky

I wonder if fellow sewists or quilters here might recognize any of the fabrics in this quilt top and their approximate date? The original maker passed away. They were from TN, USA. My Aunt doesn't know if it was made by her mother or grandmother. #Sewing #quilting #fabric #quiltsky #sewsky

The top I'm working on was 100% hand pieced. It has a lot of wonky seams. Any tips for quilting it? Ironing isn't a good choice. It needs to be washed before an iron touches it. I only risked airing it on the hammock. I have no idea how old it is. The original maker has passed. #quiltsky

It's close but will work. It's not big enough if it were being longarmed. But, I think I can make do since I'm using my domestic machine. Plus! Instead of having a big remnant of batting cut off the bottom, I have enough to pair up with another similar sized top.

I had hoped to finish this quilt top before I went to bed tonight. Well, life and stuff made it hard, but I got the quilt top done, I remembered to to the victory lap around the outside edge, cut strips for the binding, made a matching pillowcase, and loaded it all up for the morning. #quiltsky

Echoes design HDW3 for Quilts of Valor Foundation. Pattern includes Red,White, and Blue Echoes blocks, the 2026 block drive blocks, alternated with Red and White and Blue and White Half Square Triangles.

OMG! I am coming up for air. I feel like I have been straight out since January and here it is April already! Just a quick catch up! I took 3 classes at the Lebanon/Lancaster Quilt show. Rangeley Stars, Sashiko Sneekers, and free motion feathers, and loved all 3 classes. #quiltsky

Rangeley Stars Wall hanging pattern started with two stars, one medium, one small in red, black, and gold/yellow fabrics.

My first ever attempt at free mothion feathers at a class at the quilt show.

Sashiko sneaker started at a class at the quilt show. Black Sketchers canvas shoe with contrasting fabric stitched on in Sashiko style with small stitched stars between the fabric.

The view from here. Non weight bearing for two weeks. It's not going well. And my poor pup doesn't know what to think of the situation. Tarsal tunnel syndrome and plantar fasciitis corrective surgery was last Friday. 2/27/26

One of the quilt guilds at the AQS quilt show had several sewing machines set up and had preped kits to make fidget mats. I had a lot of fun pitching in for their service project. I hope it goes to someone who can enjoy it in good health. #quiltsky

What the heck, how long can it take to make three more blocks, right? 36 blocks done. Time for the next step. Just in case you are curious, all 36 blocks were made using the original 8 FQ that I started with and I have a bunch of scraps left over. #quiltsky

Today's quilting adventures so far . . . I'm back to working on my version of the advent quilt project by @craftmoore.bsky.social I decided to make mine 36 blocks instead of 24. IYKYK I'm doing a solid block of each fabric with a pattern, plus 6 random blocks. Just 3 more to go. #quiltsky

Today's quilting adventures started last night. I pulled out a UFO to work on this week. It was almost 2:30a before I walked away. Then, I had a class with Karen Brown this afternoon. This block took me abt 4 hrs to finish. I love how it came out. #quiltsky @justgetitdonequilt.bsky.social
