Since it's been the agricultural show week here in #Orkney this week's cheeseboard highlights Orkney cheese, crackers and chutneys. I do appreciate our local produce and producers! #Cheese #ShopLocal

There's Beremeal biscuits, small round oatcakes ans triangular ancient grains oatcakes, also all from Orkney. From JP Orkney my favourite relishes of carmelised carrot chutney and spiced beetroot relish, as well as pickled cucumber. There's also serano ham, butter, pickled onion, rocket, cherry tomatoes and apricot.

Apparently out of all my to-do list, playing around with an updated banner was the priority this afternoon 😆 But seriously, I don't hide what I stand for, and I will keep using my voice to speak out against injustice and for equal rights and social justice. Feels like it needs saying this week.

7 years ago I got off a flight to Kirkwall for a 1 year teaching job. 7 years later I'm a homeowner and can't imagine living anywhere else 🥰 I'm incredibly fortunate and grateful that life has brought me here. Made the most of local salmon and scallops for dinner tonight to celebrate. #Orkney #Home🏠

The relief of being able to adjust for period pain during the summer holidays and cuddle up on the couch with tea, comfort food, heat pack and a good book. Instead of powering through hormonal highs and lows, with cramps, while presenting a positive face to a class of 30 kids #EduSky

Behold the drawer organisation! I'd got one set of Joseph Joseph blox organisers for my cutlery and used some of the excess in this drawer. Indulged in another set and now feeling rather gleeful about everything being tidy and organised in this drawer. Then let's see what it looks like in a month! 😆

This is covering the last season at the Ness. There is currently a focused dig going on at the site which Time Team are also involved in and there will be a further episode sharing what's been found there. My 3 year old nephew took photos to share with my parents this week!

Ah back to my Sunday cheeseboard! This week's one is special because of the platter. My parents delivered it to me as part of a housewarming gift from a former primary teacher who I've kept in touch with 🥰 she co-led the cross-stitch club & has been a massive influence on me #EduSky #ScoEdu #Cheese

It's been wonderful to have my immediate family here over the last 3 weeks, especially introducing my nephew to #Orkney. The last of them left Friday, yesterday I had @amnestyscotland.bsky.social in-person training, & committee catch up for Orkney Friends of Palestine. Today=couch day! #AndRest

I made it to the end of the school year 🥳😴😵‍💫 Many of my cards and gifts were reading themed and I've had so many author mentions from my pupils in the last 2 weeks! This was one card 😍🥹 so I think I've done alright this year 🤞 @ldlapinski.bsky.social made such an impact during their visit 👏

Back to the cheeseboard! Two types of Orkney Beremeal crackers and rosemary sourdough crackers. Pecorino truffle, Montagnolo blue cheese and Beemster Gouda. There's salad greens, cherry plum tomatoes, sliced cucumber, red grapes, sliced pear, apricot, blueberries, potato salad, butter, walnuts, pistachios and jars of JP Orkney Caramelised carrot chutney and spiced beetroot relish.

Sorry folks, no #cheese this evening as I've had a friend visiting this weekend and we had a South Ronaldsay day with celebratory seafood for dinner 🤤👌It was fabulous! #Orkney (Murray Arms in St Margaret's Hope for anyone planning a trip)

A P1 pupil was using my library corner today & ended up looking at this with a support assistant. I was going past & when they had it explained to them they couldn't believe that in the past their classmate wouldn't have been allowed to be in the same class as them in the USA. It's been a long day but all went smoothly and while there's boxes everywhere I'm satisfied. The flowers are from my new neighbours to welcome me to the street 🥰 extra lovely as they're a school family and I taught one of them 🥹 so rather touched. Feeling very grateful and privileged
