Hey a friend just shared this with me, ask is super achievable:
I grew up in part in Auburn Alabama where my dad was a prof (little known fact about me) & auburn board of trustees voted to shutter its faculty senate & make all decisions about curriculum etc unilaterally. Just a chilling precedent.
Guys you know you've struck a nerve when the hate mail keeps coming. This time from a PhD who can't spell SCOTUS, and a man who describes himself as handsome and recommends I should "occasionally pick up a book." A testament to how absurd & violent this hatred is.
I ❤️ hatemail. Just really shows you who these people are. And no I don't blur your info if you choose to do this sort of thing, so write me at your peril.
I couldn’t be prouder of @darializaforny.bsky.social who fought & won against the most vile smears, of organizers who pounded doors across our city, of the New Yorkers who voted for dignity over capital, for freedom over establishment politics. Good morning on this new dawn for American socialism.
So it’s fascinating because it’s the same Chelsea handler who recorded a video with Noa Tishby, Israel’s former special envoy for combating antisemitism and the delegitimization of Israel, saying she doesn’t understand why progressives don’t support Israel. She’s 100% a Zionist.
So I’ve been keeping this under wraps until it all went through officially, but I got tenure and it just went through approval at the Board of Trustees level. And they said some nice things! We made it friends❤️
Something I find so jarring is how reporting is still straight laced using language like "what amounts to" and then you click in to this... still this late in the game I am never prepared.
This time the letter was signed by the former president, and the future one (notably not all of council). Notably, they have toned down their reproach of the 2024 Resolution, holding it up as one-of-the-good-ones. How many ways do they need to tell us that they don't want us before we leave?
Though 500+ members committed to boycott he annual meeting, the American Sociological Association just reiterated their refusal to allow a vote on BDS, complete with a throwaway line about how they "might broadly support Palestinian and other scholars under attack".
Ok I’m slammed today but had to take a minute to celebrate this HUGE datapoint. @darializaforny.bsky.social outraised the seemingly untouchable AIPAC funded incumbent. We can win y’all, donate!! Go to her page for the link.
I think it’s great that public opinion is shifting & all but the fact that a genocide of babies can be broadcast for over 2 years & the dems— the progressives of the two parties — are still shocked that condemning it is a good thing is wild. Just bananas.
New York: Something really cool is coming to Hunter. We're bringing in a Virtual Reality project, called the Phoenix of Gaza, that takes you into Gaza pre-genocide. It is one of the most moving things I've seen. Each night is crowned with a panel of amazing speakers. RSVP ASAP, space is limited.
Current scenes. I wonder if 2 are scary but one is fine. I guess we’ll find out.
Mind you this man congratulating bestie @asanews.bsky.social President for her bravery in squashing the leftists is the very same who posted this in response to the first letter condemning genocide
I encourage sociologists to respond. You know that the Zionists will. Here's what I wrote:
When academia as a whole is shrinking. When so many people I've spoken to quit because you REFUSED to condemn genocide. When so many joined because of the resolution S4P put forth. When the trend has been going south for YEARS. You haven't seen 15K since 2007. 3/
