With the massive grade change here at Ormewood and BeltLine Streets, the new apartments at Trestletree could be 5 stories tall and be too short. It would take 10 stories just to get the same “feel” as the fully built out east sides of BeltLine.

You are right. The initial screenshot is apples and oranges, so the growth is as you said. However, basically 100% of that TAD growth is the BeltLine. If you strip away that single district, the growth is from 8% to 8% lololol.
Invest Atlanta finally released its audit, and in the past 15 years, the TAD districts - after borrowing $1 billion, and diverting millions from public school funding - grew from 15% of the city’s tax base to *** drum roll *** 16%. Essentially, the TADs performed equal to the non-TAD areas.
@andisheh.com once wrote a thoughtful HIFA essay suggesting ATL annex suburbs to form a political union against state republican shenanigans, but the Dickens’s admin is honestly the best counterpoint to “Mega Atlanta” showing how progressive urban policies fail when suburbs vote in city elections.
I really want the Mayor’s TAD team to update this graphic for the rest of the city, because I’m pretty sure District 8 in Buckhead also has only two grocery stores… maybe 3? Are we going to spend TAD money subsidizing economic development in Chastain Park?
