Rosa Snell née Stark, my 2x great-aunt, and her 4 daughters. She also had 3 sons. Rosa died #OTD in 1924 aged 54, in Taunton, where her husband was the licensee of The Naval and Military Inn. #genealogy #FamilyHistory
Yes! Every one of the suggestions has been irrelevant! This is typical - (a) She died in 1887 and (b) She never set foot in America, let alone in the roaring 20s! Completely pointless.
"Also Georgina..." is all that can now be read (this always reminds me of Great Expectations). She was Georgina Mary Clark, my great aunt. Born #OTD in 1904, d. Nov 1905 of bronchitis. 2 young siblings also died, of gastroenteritis and whooping cough. #genealogy #FamilyHistory #Shropshire #Oswestry
Just found this photo from November 1968 in the Shropshire Journal. That's my grandmother with the Vim! Samuel Heap of the Cheshire Constabulary who died #OTD in 1909 aged 80. He was my great-grandfather's step-father, and is one of my favourite people in my tree. Two of his sons sadly died by drowning - one at Egremont and one at Samoa whilst serving with the US Navy. #genealogy #FamilyHistory

No. As genealogy is my hobby I've got a subscription for the British Newspaper Archive, so found everything there. I'll have a look at the census returns on Ancestry when I get a chance! He was in the list of subscribers for William Cathrall's book.
It seems to be quite a sad story. He died aged 37, 8 December 1857 and his wife died aged 38, 6 August 1859. I wonder what it says on the side of the monument... ? I will see what else I can find.
#OTD in 1902 my great-grandparents John Edward Ambler and *Cecil Elizabeth Davies (née Williams) were married at St John's Parish Church, Egremont, Wallasey. Both had been widowed so it was a 2nd marriage for them both. *Christened Elizabeth, she assumed the name Cecil! #genealogy #FamilyHistory
Somehow, with a name like Thomas Jones(!) I found the answer! He was a pub landlord and probably originally from Oswestry. He sounds like a lovely man.

68 years ago today my parents got married at All Saints' Church, Gobowen #Shropshire. It's also the day dad's paternal great-grandparents, John Johnson and Louisa Morley, got married at St Helen's Church in Welton, East Yorkshire in 1856. #genealogy #FamilyHistory
The Old Bell Inn, 111 Frankwell, Shrewsbury closed in 1911. My 3x great-uncle Edward Jones was Landlord in the 1890s. He was also Landlord of The Red Lion, Battlefield in the 1870s - it's still open today of course! #genealogy #FamilyHistory #Shropshire

Remembering my dad. From a working class background in a Shropshire town, he won a scholarship to Oxford aged 17. He stayed at school another year "to help", did his National Service then went up to St Edmund Hall from 1953 to 1956. The cleverest person I've ever known! ❤️ #FathersDay #FamilyHistory
In my own family, this grave has burials from 1872 to 1950. My 2x great-grandparents, David & Emma Clark d. 1903 & 1941, and their daughters Emily d. 1872 (aged 4) and Edith d. 1950 (aged 68).
#OTD in 1931 my grandparents Frederick Johnson & Eva Clark were married at St Oswald's Parish Church, Oswestry. My great-grandfather was a Methodist and had never set foot in the Parish Church before, so he took my grandmother down the wrong aisle to the Lady Chapel! #genealogy ##FamilyHistory
