Out n about for a walk around Southsea today. Flippin hot but too nice a day not to take advantage of it.

Canoe Lake Southsea. View between two bushes is a grass area in the foreground with a statue on it, beyond which is a lake with a path running around it and peddle boats that look like Swans in the middle.

D-Day Memorial Southsea seafront. On a raised bed is a granite square with writing on it commemorating D-Day. The whole thing is not huge, you could easily walk past it. In front of it is a line of wreathes made of plastic poppies, I tided them up a bit while I was there. Behind is the seafront road and the promenade, the is a Victorian cast iron shelter there in yellow & white.

To the right is a row of Victorian hotels that run all along the seafront, these are the nearest to the sea as the rest has Southsea Common in front of them. Portsmouth is unusual in that the hotels do not dominate our seafront.

Wow that's scary! Sorry it's me trying to do a selfie. Hot sweaty curly hair as is my summer look. The area behind is green with dappled light, I'm actually at a roundabout underpass that opens up in the middle of the roundabout.

This was me about nine or ten. 1976-77.

An old photo of myself at around nine or ten in 1976-77. I'm on a school field trip, with the only teacher ever noticed me. She sat me down one day and tried to find out what was upsetting me, all I could do was cry and felt so bad I couldn't answer I just sat there saying sorry. Fifty years later I still say sorry when I get upset.

Interesting document and reminder from Joss Prior of how we got here and how it was all so predictable. This was a cross committee legislative scrutiny report from 2009 of the equality bill that would eventually be the Equality act 2010. Interesting to see them warning that safeguards were needed

Was on the Gosport Ferry again this week, the light on the journey home was begging to be photographed. Love living by the sea. x

Photo from the Gosport Ferry. Gosport is just a black silhouette line of land & buildings, the large sky above pale high clouds just hiding a faint sun. The Harbour water is flattened out by the wake of the boat, with the evening sun it looks like a pool of deep blue molten glass. I love living by the sea.

Happy 14th vaginaversary to me. 🥳♀️ It was a two part surgery so actually 10th & 13th. Set out for my first flight abroad, on my own, so desperate was I to get it done. Loved Thailand but surgery issues & an earthquake made it all tough going. No regrets. 😎

The room like all was a mixture of honey oak coloured plywood and white painted surfaces.

A photo of 45 year old me just turned up at the hospital, reflecting in the bathroom mirror. Standing in a black with white pattern print maxi dress, looking surprisingly young 14 years later.

Standing on my balcony some time after surgery and now a bit more used to the heat. The hills were silhouetted by a very trans supportive blue and pink sunset.
The reality was another thunderstorm was on its way. :)

If I'd have gone to Charing Cros GIC in 1985 instead of 2009 I would have only got treatment if I'd dressed feminine & liked boys. In the public minds that sadly can still be the case as they don't understand our diversity. This is how I really went there in 2009... as well, fuck em.

The morning photos were bright due to high cloud and gave some interesting lighting. Love living on an Island City. ❤️

This is Spinnaker Tower at Gunwharf Keys shopping centre built on an old Navy base giving access to Portsmouth Harbour. I was on the ferry and managed to line up the sun behind the tower. With the high cold whit clouds the photo has a lovely light to it.

The weather was at last nice and I was feeling up for a long walk, so took the ferry across Pompey Harbour to see a friend in Gosport. Got some lovely photos, never take many so try to make them count.

Had a trip with the model club I'm a member off to the Bovington Tank Museum on Saturday, there was a model show there and hadn't been for a long time. Chatted with lots of people I hadn't seen in a long time. Fun day but been tired all day today. Awful photos of me have yes been taken.😊

Me kissing the gun barrel of the WW1 Tank because an introvert around friends is actually a bit of a nut case.

The reason I like this particular tank is it was donated to Bovington Tank Museum from my home city of Portsmouth.

One of the exhibits in the museum was this 1920 fairground ride that had some merry go round tanks instead of horses. It's been restored and donated to the museum which I think is great fun.
Yet again my friends have managed to take a horrible picture of me but at least I'm smiling.

Just to lighten things up a bit... here's me after having my hair done on Thursday. The weather on the journey home decided my nice neat straight hair had to go back to it's normally curly state.😊🤣

A few months ago I got to paint a MiniArt French Cuirassier Napoleonic Wars 1/16 kit for a friend. Never painted one before despite many, many years ago having built an Airfix cavalry man. Built the kit, got scared to paint it and years later got rid of it. Glad I finally got around to having a go.

On Sunday I was with my fellow Model Boat Display Team members at Chichester Canal Basin. Each year we let fireworks off from our boats to celebrate the arrival of Santa. The photo is me with one of our younger members.

Just finished a 1/16 Dragon kit of the Screaming Eagle soldier Normandy 1944 for a friend. I think I over did the highlights a bit but overall very happy. Give it to him tomorrow.

It took about 5 years of tiny steps but I came out at 40. Transitioning was tough but worth it. This was me in I think 2008 with my favourite wig, just about when I stopped using it.

It's been a tough year in so many ways, made more so by reaching the age Mum passed away at. My lack of memories of her despite being 27 at the time make it all the harder to mourn or at least ever move pass it. Been looking at photos to see if I can bring her back for a moment, but without luck.

One of the reasons I joined a model boat club back in 1985 was I knew it would be good for my anxiety. Out with them tomorrow despite not feeling my best. Painting up a model of a AFV434 RRV for someone right now, it's for money but also fun. Nearly finished.

Occasionally I end up in a photograph and don't completely hate it. The sailing ship is radio controlled with working cannons, it was built & owned by 3 of us. The model is having a refit as it is now 20 years old.
