little record store haul from today. I was very surprised to see the new Public Enemy record there!
I have no affection for the original (because I haven’t played it much), but I grabbed Gimmick! 2 on a whim tonight and it’s pretty tight. Feels like a hardcore version of an old Kirby game, in terms of level design, combat, and secrets. Reviews had me skeptical, but I dig it!
There are also a bunch of fun things you can find used or through print on demand services, like the Jerry Scott Nancy, and fan made collections of old Fritzi Ritz strips. You can also find collections of the Olivia Jaimes strips!
On top of that, several new (and much more affordable) collections of Bushmiller era Nancy have been published in the past year or two
Around the same time, several books about Nancy and Bushmiller were published, all of which I would highly recommend to anyone who appreciates the strip.
In 2024, Nancy Fest was held at the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum. A celebration of all things Nancy. This was paired with The Nancy Show, which was an exhibit featuring a ton of original Nancy art.
A few years prior, Fantagraphics began publishing a full collection of the daily Nancy strips by Ernie Bushmiller, but low sales cut the series short. These quickly went out of print and became prohibitively expensive for casual readers!
Seeing a shocking amount of Nancy posts lately! There's seemingly been a resurgence in interest over the past few years. For me, it was sparked by the March 2019 issue of Bubbles, which covered Music From Nancy- a performance art piece that made sheet music from Nancy strips!
Finished Mina the Hollower today. Been playing it on Steam Deck at night before bed. A real challenge for me in many ways, but the game gives you a lot of different tools to tackle all of its obstacles. A+ game imo, might go back in and 100% it.

At 5pm EST on Fri. 6/26, I'll be doing a livestream presentation on my current game project. This is in accordance with a small regional arts grant that I received to kickstart development. I'll be covering how we got from notepad doodles to a real game, and where we go next!

007 First Light is good! The gameplay is tight, but I am equally impressed by all of the little environmental details.
At some point in the future, I've got the next Nancy collection and the complete Zap Comix coming from @fantagraphics.bsky.social, and the Alan Wake and Grasshopper books from @lostincult.co.uk (plus the next issue of [lock-on]). A gift to my future self from a past self who had extra book money.
Watching America's Serial Killers: Portraits in Evil (2009). The narrator does a great job most of the time, but maybe once per episode he goes into a ridiculous character voice and it always catches me off guard
