A villainous goon with good intentions. He/Him. Georgist. Former Public Defender. I will recommend you a book if you ask.
Sunday Dinner! Lamb, beef, and apricot tagine with carrots, chickpeas, olives, lemon zest, cumin, coriander, cinnamon, cardamom, tomato paste, over pearl couscous, with cilantro garnish
I'm gonna recommend that everyone check out The Thaumaturge, a disco-like CRPG from a couple years ago. You're a wizard in 1905 revolutionary Poland and you collect and battle demons like they were Pokemon. Gameplay is solid, writing is good, aesthetic and vibes are absolutely fabulous
Sunday Dinner: Shrimp Etouffee! Made a shrimp stock from the shells and tails, then separately a bacon fat roux, toasted celery, onions, bell peppers, garlic, tony chachere's, Worcestershire, diced tomatoes, then added back in the shrimp broth and four pounds of the shrimps, serve over rice
Anyone who wants good Robin Hood right now just read Howard Pyle BotM August: THE MERRY ADVENTURES OF ROBIN HOOD by Howard Pyle - The Something Awful Forums share.google/opFols6b3oMY...
Saturday Night Dinner: Avgolemono Soup! From scratch: twelve eggs, eight lemons, dill, carrots, onions, celery, and a rotisserie chicken. Two big personal triumphs: first was using the rotisserie chicken carcass to make stock for the base of the soup, second successfully blending in the eggs.
The world *does* need a period-accurate adaptation of Mary Renault's _The King Must Die_, tho
Oh look another one of these "best book" lists www.theguardian.com/books/ng-int...
Indy, very importantly, *dresses well*. One of the last male stars to really suit up on screen in major roles.
Made Chef Boyardee's original pasta recipe, following www.tastinghistory.com/recipes/chef... Tasted like I remember it tasting from childhood, not how it tastes from the can today. The noodles had a special distinctive textured bite. Not a complex recipe but nothing wrong with it at all.
The actual sad-funny thing about this is that the Somethingawful forums have an ongoing, still-active thread posted originally by Vilerat. It's about trying to fight bullshit right-wing email forwards. forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.p...
Sunday Dinner: lamb shank tagine with sweet potatoes, cumin, coriander, cinnamon, diced tomatoes, lime, over couscous
Grilled Cheese Saturday! Swiss, provolone, mustard, pickle relish, and lightly fried beef slices on "Cheesecake Factory" brown bread
Saturday Supper: Irish Stew of lamb, bacon, and potatoes, after @tastinghistory.bsky.social
This, and also, very often, not only are they not leftists, they aren't even people!
People really need to start operating from the presumption that if it looks like a wrecker, it's a wrecker
"The time changed in the night," murmured Fred. / "And now it is different instead: / "Is it early, or late? Should I hurry, or wait?" / "Perhaps I should go back to bed."
I've been going *deep* into dwarf fortress after the Seige Update made "star fort" style designs practicable. Here's a video of a full scale goblin seige with a demon and a cave dragon running full tilt into this fully armed and operational battle station. www.youtube.com/watch?v=9jcx...
