Final push to finish the big art show puppet for #Anthrocon, let's see how tomorrow goes. Fingers crossed
#Anthrocon prep continues. Given the con theme this year involves cryptids, tiny mothmen seemed the natural choice for clay fidgets. To add some variety, I did a couple of rosy maple mothmen. They are set on spinners on a glow in the dark moon. Super fun experiment!
Now if you'll excuse me, I have a ton of glazing to do! Including these cute jackalope & worpletanger mini planters...

Alright friends, we are 2 minus 2 weeks until #Anthrocon! Time to share some important details. First, I will be at table F02 in the dealer's den, right as you walk in the main entrance!
*Joyful Screaming* IT WORKED!!!!! Ok, the mold has a couple of spots the ears and feet get hung up. Definitely room for improvement next mold. BUT! We Have Jackalope/Worpletanger Planter!!♡♡♡ As long as the Kiln Gods are kind, I will have some of these at my table this Anthrocon. Yay!

Forgot to add release agent to the first half of the sculpt, so now I get to carefully scoop it out and dry the plaster mold. BUT! Things look promising. Fingers crossed.....
Working on finishing this jackalope planter for molding. Fingers crossed the mold works cleanly! Given that I started this around easter, I def want to glaze one like a chocolate bunny.
Finally finished the hyena mask, & took it outside to get some photos. @shadraavroart.bsky.social will be adding a fur mantle & taking Rusty out for a spin at their local LARP in a few weeks. Can't wait to see pics of him in battle!
Ok, need to glue down the edges around the eye holes, add the shading/blending, attach the nose... But we are in the home stretch!
Any other artists have feline family that insists on 'helping' when you are working? This idiot keeps trying to eat my thread. While the needle is attached. I swear, 404 Brain Not Found...
Ok, leather has been wet formed. Seams glued over in what will be high stress spots. Now to attach the straps, and the fur. Once it's shaved down, drybrushing the shading. Or if I can get my airbrush to cooperate maybe a bit of airbrushing? Either way, excited to see what he looks like when done!
Hmmmm! Seems to maybe be working. Once I get everything sewn and wet shaped we shall see how it looks with the fur.
Noodling around with the base pattern I bought from @kazplay.com to try & tweak a fox into a hyena. Next I'll be cutting the pattern in leather & attempting to make a mask for a friend's LARP that is durable enough for boffer combat. First time trying this, so I'm curious to see how it goes.
