Oh, I think it’s Ancestry’s parlance that’s confusing- by 5th great-grandfather, it means that it’s 4 generations back from my great-grandfather, so great grandfather plus four essentially. I ended up finding a closer one! She would be my great-great-great grandmother who was born in NL.
