2013 was an absolutely stacked class and an already-crowded ballot, the electorate had no idea what to do with all that, and he immediately fell below 5% and got dropped. I think if he debuts any other time before then or right after, voters at least find a way to keep him one after that first year

Well, this is a bust. But I went looking after the broadcast mentioned it, and Jordan Walker would indeed be the first Home Run Derby winner from the Cardinals if he takes it. Schwarber would be the third Philly (Abreu '05, Howard '06), while Contreras would be the second Red Sock (Ortiz '10)

Just did a quick check on the total number of votes per ballot going back to 1980. Obvious we'd miss churn, but only 9 years saw a net growth larger than +15, and a couple of those came after years of mysterious drops in the total, making me think at least some were past voters coming back.

Oh right, the Astros aren't over here yet for me to quote-post. New Astros City Connects were revealed. I like them more than the Space City ones! Those always felt too similar to the base jerseys, like they could be normal alts. I like when the City Connects are more unusual.
