Two guards stand before a gate. They tell a peasant, "One of us always lies! One of us tells the truth!" Guard 2 says, "You have three questions." Peasant says, "Oh, okay... can a fish fart?" Guards look confused. One, "Er, just a minute." The guards huddle together. One says, "I mean, do you know if they can fart?" The other says, "Tell you what. One of us says yes, one of us says no. That way we're covered." Guard 1 says, "I guess?" They turn back to the gate to see the peasant disappearing through it.

There's a lot else going on right now, I know – but I'm happy to say the final issue of the current MUPPETS NOIR story, "The Snoozing Sleuth", comes out today. (Writing the next one right now!)

I've seen several 1960s Superman covers in my feed today, so here's something I did to mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of Curt Swan, who was, and shall forever remain, "my" Superman artist.

A recreation in my own style of Curt Swan's cover to Jimmy Olsen #74, showing Perry White transformed into a tiger like Tawky Tawny, Lucy Lane shrunk to the size of a doll, and Jimmy Olsen floating in the air like Mr. Mxyzptlk. Superman looks on in dismay. The title of the story is "The Pranks of Jimmy the Imp".

Happy 75th Anniversary to the Goon Show! It transformed my attitude towards authority, created worlds inside my head that I'm still trying to capture on paper, and taught me that there are smart jokes and silly jokes and one's not better than the other. (And sometimes they're the same joke.)
