Hater Week seems like the perfect time to support @aftermath.site so I did an annual sub tonight. We can all be haters, for good! And as a proud owner of the hardback Myst prequel novel, I believe that, together, we can force them to do a video game book report

Got the new Hallmark Cerritos ornament for uh Summerween. I expected it to be much smaller! It's close to being in scale with the metal Eaglemoss 1701-D (yes, it IS too brown). The sculpting is nicely done. (Apologies for the hand.)

Small model of the TNG era Enterprise from overhead, next to a slightly smaller and more cartoony looking Cerritos from Lower Decks. Both are on a space print pillowcase.

The model and ornament from the side, held up by a hand. The Cerritos is shorter and narrower, but they believably could be the same scale.

Just the Cerritos, tilted (hand still holding it by the saucer). The nacelles are sculpted and the paint is quite detailed, while keeping the cartoony look of the show.

Fallen Labubu on a desk, pale brown fur with a knit blue 60s style dress with a white collar that won't lay flat. Her blond flip and bangs are messy, and even though she's smiling with traditional pointy teeth, her green, pupil-less eyes are seeing a different world.

Three handmade plush peanuts, each in straw hats. They have black eyes and a "hmm" face embroidered on, with little thin black arms raised. Next to them is a stack of muslin bags with "Junior's Fresh & Hot Boiled Peanuts" on them in red.

Black Keychron mechanical keyboard with swapped rainbow keycaps, gamer mouse, and way too many (9) Labubus from different releases, with the wigged ones in front, including one that looks like a Hitchock movie gal and a punk rock girl with a plaid skirt. Some of the others have glasses, hairbows or pink sequin Mickey ears.

Ohhh it's snail time (order going out tomorrow)

Handmade plush snail perched atop a hot pink laptop like it's climbing up it. Off white snail with tiny black plastic eyes, chunky antennae that should technically be the eyes but this is cuter, and a smiling mouth munching on yarn moss. The shell is pastel space print. Lots of toy nonsense in the background.

Picking up odd estate sale items and researching their history. This is how I have a hedgehog tile from England, a lucky bell from Japan, a lot of glass telephone line insulators, these Burmese birds that were a standard weight system. A joy to end up on sites built in 1997 about folks' passions

Two small brass bird-like animals, duck-adjacent, each with a tail that curves upwards and a curling feather ridge on their heads. They look very old and worn.

This is my current one, a lot of the height is the hat so I don't need anything that big... but I do need something functional like a real one. It's about 7.25"

Desk full of toys and Labubus, focus on a blue tiny trashcan that looks like a cartoon guy with open mouth and little hat and just one green googly eye because the stickers fell off.

Would anyone like to see some juvenile red-shouldered hawks (pretty sure?), even though I didn't get one shoving its sibling with a claw

Two juvenile hawks, the bird and not a sports team no matter what autocorrect tries to do, on the grass. They look mostly like adults, largely dark brown with elaborate beige mottling and white-crescent feather edges, and bright yellow feet. One is looking at camera with one foot on a nut or rock. The other is looking away.

Same hawks but now the other one is looking at camera, while the second regards its prize nut. They look ever so slightly fluffier and more awkward than adults.

Can I interest anyone in the program guide for Anime Central 2001 (their 4th, I believe), when it was at the Sheraton by the racetrack

Acen 2001 book cover, full color glossy with anime art by Kia Asamiya of like three robot maids with big eyes, I do not recall if they were from a specific manga he did.

Schedule for Friday and Saturday, grid overlay of anime images that are hard to see but maybe Card Captor Sakura. Highlights: cel painting workshop, web design workshop, a fan parody dubbing workshop, an ADV Films panel, one on Megatokyo, and a dance.

Two quite small exhibit hall floor plans, fewer than 50 total vendors. Media Blasters and ADV the notable long gone ones, also Kinokuniya, Anime Palace, and House of Anime. Asylum Anime and Manga Entertainment, which I believe became Manga Corps and is also long gone. RIP.

Time to share the stroke awareness acronym again, everyone should know this. People may also exhibit confusion, making it harder to diagnose some of these, and not everyone has them all. Time is incredibly important; if you suspect a stroke, get them to a hospital immediately.

Acronym BE FAST: Balance loss, Eye (vision) changes, Face drooping, Arm weakness, Speech difficulty, Time to call 911.

Plush orders from the last week, genuinely don't remember making the starfish last Saturday but it still got done. May they travel safely and arrive just when they're needed

Plush starfish on a desk mat, made from blue minky fabric with little bumps and long pile pink fuzzy fabric sticking out from underneath. It has big plastic dome black eyes, an embroidered smile, and embroidered pink blush.

Big chaotic furry ball plush tumbleweed in long beige faux fur, with big black eyes and smile and barely visible arms. Next to it, much smaller gray smiling pebble plush, with a bit of green moss.

Plush paintbrush, with a brown and gray handle, brown top with an embroidered smiling face and dome eyes, and the top of the brush shape in multicolored rainbow blobs as if dipped in multiple paints. It has raised little pipe cleaner arms.

Running through every struggle meal I can think of may look sad, but a) sometimes it's a homemade Adult Lunchable night b) I got two "Sugarbee" apples at Hmart in Orlando and they were excellent

Dinner plate with a bowl of shelled pistachios, two sticks of string cheese, three thick cheddar slices, haphazard tiny Triscuits, and large red apple slices with peanut butter on them.

Realtors won't tell you this, but when staging a home, it's very important to have a prominent octopus pedestal. The kitchen is a great spot

A basement kitchen, long row of cabinets and a sink, some dishes and such around, beige walls and tan tile floor everyone seems to get in bulk. About 9" in front of the cabinet, a dark brown, traditional pedestal side table with a large yellow stuffed toy octopus occupying the entire top, big eyes facing forwards.

This was great, saw something I will to look into! Are you familiar with the Palaset series by Ristomatti Ratia? Mine are, uh, not so modular as I only found two so far, but very cool. They're still made, but not the same. The OG stack with pegs to hold them together.

Anyway a computer can't make plushies, so here's some recent ones I never remembered to post

Round extremely fluffy tumbleweed plush, made from long wavy faux fur. It has two big black dome eyes and an embroidered smile, with ivory pipe cleaner arms/hands, one folded inwards over its "chest" and the other sticking straight out like it's blowing in the wind.

I'm eligible for the soft launch, but aside from getting back down, since I almost blacked out on Mine Train due to vertigo issues, sadly it is for me. I'll have to go when the Føød Truck is open and otherwise live vicariously.

Entrance arch to Rock n Roller Coaster, with an upside-down car mounted on the head of a guitar. The vintage convertible style vehicle is painted in psychedelic colors.

New entrance to the coaster behind a wall of temp hedges. The huge electric guitar has been repainted in bright psychedelic rainbow waves of color, "featuring the Muppets" added. Big poster of the Electric Mayhem riding in a coaster vehicle, done like a concert poster, on the wall.

Just over the top of temp hedges, a shuttered blue and white striped food truck with top banners reading "Føød by Swedish Chef."

Indoor temp/humidity monitor, showing 50% humidity and 80.4 F, which is does say is in the dead center of its "comfort gauge" but not sure how. Not sufficiently Wet I guess, just Half Wet.
