Inflatable Tube Man
America's first Tube Man stood 60 feet tall and flopped around like the prodigal son of Martha Graham and a windsock. Thirty years after he was created for the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, Tube Man has become a fixture of the American strip mall. He, who was once a work of art, is now selling used cars in downtown San Jose. It's hard not to see ourselves in this giant wiggly goofball. We, too, are happy idiots flailing around outside the vape shop. We, too, were once works of art. But now we've gotta make a living. Capitalism comes for everyone.

A metal gate. A curious black-and-white kitty is visible (but out of focus) through one of the circles in the gate design. She later walked through the gate and wound around my legs so I would pet her.

The victim and his grandson were at what even the National Park Service would say was a safe distance, at least 100 yards, from the bison. They stopped for some pictures while the bison lay down and seemed to have calmed down.

MacLeod doesn’t blame anyone, especially not the victim or his grandson, for what happened.

“They were just out for an evening walk, just happened to turn around the corner, and there’s a bison,” he said.

A painting of two women in 18th century clothing walking away on a cobblestone street. Both are carrying umbrellas. There are less distinct figures in the background, and a light pole in the middle ground. In the extreme foreground you can see part of a gentleman's umbrella, top hat, and shoulder.

Caillebotte's enormous masterpiece depicting a busy intersection in Paris on a wet day. It is epic.
