Sorry. No. This is the outer wall of a 1960s build. Across the 4 floors it has 14 rooms. The work required to get external units on that is substantial for one building. It can't be central AC, there's nowhere for the vents to go. Window units?

Even more so is that this touches on some of the coolest foundational work in perception and the basis for many visual illusions such as bistable images (can be seen as two objects, swapping which you see). See alt text for more details.

Broad Description: a series of examples of visual illusions demonstrating gestalt principles of perceptual object formation.

Bottom left: This shows a series of dots that, if they had no cutouts, may not have particularly strong coherent properties that would make you percieve them as a single object, likely a collection of objects.

However, the cutout lines giving the ilusion of a wire-frame cube because they have shared properties, in this case edges oriented in specific angles and relationships to each other that allow us to "see" a white cube, despite there being no cube drawn. This is almost the opposite of disruptive pattern materials, rather than disrupting object formation by breaking coherence, you're creating the illusion of an object by creating a pattern that it would otherwise have, where it present.

This illusion in particular is so strong that the gut reaction is to say "but the cube is there, it's just drawn in white on black", but no lines are drawn between the corners, only the corners themselves are presented. We still percieve these black circles as being present, equal sized, and the same distance away from us, yet the cutouts imply an object that would be masking them in a way that is impossible (they could not be equally sized and distance away while also being behind the white lines like this).

We percieve two objects featuring properties that cannot co-exist, because of pattern properties that our perceptual system relies on for stimuli features together to perceive "a single object".

This in particular reads more like "we need people to act more like the model parameters" which is odd because the intent of this article looks great.... But I would have thought the translation of that intent is "how can we better model?" not "how can we get model compliant data"
