The train stations in London were amazing. NZ stations are also good (example: Dunedin, Wellington) but the UK just has extraordinary buildings. Granted I am approaching this as a tourist and don't have to use them all the time which would probably give me a different opinion. #UK #London

One of the things I did not expect to see when I visited the UK National Army Museum was the skeleton of Napoleon's horse Marengo.

The image is, believe it or not, the skeleton of Napoleon's horse Marengo on display at the National Army Museum in the UK. It is between a bust of Napoleon and a bust of the Duke of Wellington. They are ignoring each other.

The image is an information panel for the skeleton of Napoleon's horse Marengo at the UK National Army Museum. It says: Marengo was one of Napoleon's favourite horses. Named after the French victory at the Battle of Marengo in 1800 the small grey Arab horse was reliable and calm under fire. The Emperor is said to have ridden him on many of his most famous campaigns including Waterloo. Marengo was captured at Waterloo and was brought to England where he died peacefully in 1831 aged 38 years old.

Shopping malls in Singapore are frankly terrifying. I am officially overwhelmed. #Singapore

4/ What I found most moving was this story by @secondzeit.bsky.social about the damage done to Sydenham. Again with hindsight, this is quite haunting and sad. So many ghosts. The barber shop that was closed, because Tony had passed away, hit hard. I used to go to Tony for haircuts.
