@vicderbyshire.bsky.social Hi Victoria. I don't remember you dragging Farage into the studio to explain himself over this. Is there a reason why you chose to specifically target Zack Polanski over an admitted mistake that was far less inflammatory? I thought better of you.
Not exactly a great start Andy! See also the U-turn on your position on rent controls. Or maybe you think we won't need to worry about rent if you burn the planet to a crisp!
We live in an amazingly diverse ecosystem. Maybe take some time to look up and look around. We're lucky to have this planet to live on. Let's appreciate that before we start looking for others.
Today I decided I could beat The Sun and sneak out for a run under the clouds. I was wrong. The Sun won. Don't take on The Sun
Great to hear from Zack this morning. Big crowd for the early morning photo call even though some of us might have been nursing hangovers from festivities last night. Not me obvs! 😉 (Yes I'm at the back as usual!)
Steve Reed at the LGA conference banging on about how government should listen to residents and communities. Maybe he should start by listening to his own advice!
At the very first meeting of the Local Government Association Green Group at the LGA conference in sunny Bournemouth. This is the first year we've passed the threshold for a separate group. Great to be in a room with so many fellow Greens!
Seen this a few times and he's absolutely right. Language a bit colourful but completely nails it. but Every time I see, hear & smell an ICE car now I wince at how cumbersome and old hat the technology is. Like comparing the bullet train to a steam engine. Driving a BEV is a hugely better experience
At a local meeting in Bicester about the proposal to house 1250 asylum seekers on an MOD site nearby. Local Reform leader trying to turn it into a campaign speech. Didn't go down well.
Thanks to OCC highways officer Artur for spending a couple of hours with me and @fionamawson.bsky.social checking out major road defects in Kidlington yesterday. Lots of problems logged especially the mystery water leak hear the bus stop on the Oxford Road
This should be ILLEGAL! no arguments. What the hell is going on? Name and shame this place!
Of course Reform's position on climate change wouldn't have anything to do with the fact that the private company masquerading as a political party, owned and operated by Tice and Farage, is substantially funded by fossil fuel investors like Christopher Harborne would it?
If you're in Bath and fancy a lovely plant-based scoff this is a hidden gem. Plant.Eat.Licious is a really friendly independent café. You might need Google Maps to find it but definitely worth seeking out!
Let's get this vile, barbaric, elitist hobby banned for good. They had a chance to continue in a humane & sustainable way but instead they took the p*ss. Now its time to ban it outright for good. These sick animal abusers don't represent the vast majority of us & we need to let government know that!
So here's the new reality. Somehow this makes sense to the EHRC. Absolute madness.
Busy afternoon for the Hutchcombe Copse working party looking after the wildlife sanctuary. Good to get the chainsaw out again. I've been out of practice.
Lovely to catch up with local activists this afternoon to celebrate Green victories in Cherwell. We retained one seat and came pretty close in several others despite the Reform threat and the vote splitting from other parties that should have known better. Next year will be even better!
Farage is bought and paid for. He's only goal is to make himself rich at the expense of all the naive souls who vote for him and his shady little party.
I was doing studies of gender based play in children in the early 80s as part of my Psychology degree. Things were pretty much the same then. Disappointing that they don't seem to have changed much in 45 years.
Did you know we once had the death penalty for homosexuality in this country? I didn't. Truly shocking. And really not that long ago in historic terms. Those poor men.
Thinking of voting Reform? If you value your hard-earned rights, you should think again.
This is what the UK should be doing. Not letting them use our airbases to prosecute their illegal wars.
