He had thought so too. Had been so certain that he’s the hero on this adventure – Riku’s voice, cold and biting, is ringing in his ear. Somehow, Riku had known that the Keyblade should have been his originally… strangely enough, Sora thinks. Thinking back on their first reunion in Traverse Town, when Riku had so very easily taken the Keyblade, the way he’d spoken then–

(“So this is a Keyblade…”)

“Aww shucks, Sora,” Goofy interrupts, letting his lanky arm fall over Sora’s shoulder. “Ya couldn’t have known back then.”

Donald nods decisively, stepping to his other side. “Chosen or not, you still earned it.”

Sora looks down at him, then at Goofy and feels warmth bubble up inside his chest as the mountain fades into the grey entrance hall of Hollow Bastion, joy spÍarking as his friends stand by his side because–

“That’s right,” he whispers, because of course–

The wave of sheer white Light that suddenly floods Terra most literally blindsides him.

While its shine radiates with gentle warmth, it is unforgivingly firm as brightens up every corner of his being and races along the bonds to Riku… and Xehanort. Latter freezes in place, clutching at his chest as though he’s in pain.

“How can it be that you–” he growls, glaring at a spot behind Terra… and when he turns his head, he sees Riku’s girl friend – Kairi? – glaring back, his own Wayfinder clutched tightly in her right while her left is closed around the pearl pendant around her neck.

While the raw power of the spell she’s using is her own, the spell itself is– It couldn’t be?

“I remember…” Kairi says, her words loud and clear even though she never raised her voice. “There was a woman with Keyblade, who saved me once. She put a spell on me… so that my light would protect me, if I were captured.”

She shakes her head sharply, as though she was trying to be rid of an unpleasant memory.

“I don’t want to be just protected anymore,” she admits, eyes flickering to the ground for a second before she lifts her chin again. “…And if I don’t start fighting for myself now, I’ll be left behind, won’t I?”

“You don’t belong into this world… and you don’t belong into their Hearts,” she tells Xehanort. “So, I want you gone.”

The premise being

Plurk thread describing the plot, which is:

The divergence point being: Crow runs into Rally after his visit to Jack's theatre place and catches wind of the "falling out" between Jack and Yusei

(There was no actual falling out. There was Jack being in a mood and Yusei being shit at communicating as per usual though.)

Crow goes to yell at Jack, because clearly his bros cannot manage a month without the only part of their trio that has actual social skills

Cue him overhearing the whole "bring us Red Demon's and Stardust to enter the City" spiel Jeager pulls on Jack

Not sure how the resulting talk between Jack and Crow would work out. Which means I'm currently on the fence on just how much shouting would be involved on a scale from 1 to Jack Atlas.

Currently reading Axel's zero draft and I must have been drinking when I wrote this, like self what the fuck is this phrasing??? (I love it)

Axel promises to do what he can, and considers dropping in on Saix. When he enters the Garden, he is immediately passed a mission scroll by Saix, who looks even more stiff than usual. It’s definitely his “waiting for the outcome after kicking into the dominos” kind of look, so Axel decides to forego this confrontation after all.
