This from the @apnews.com article about the cross burning in Chicago is so blatant and absurd. They quote someone saying "I blame the president" and restate it as "laying some of the blame on the current political climate." The doublespeak and the gaslighting is fucking constant.

It reminds me of the infamous photos of Emperor Selassie feeding meat to his dogs as the Wollo famine broke out in 1972.
