Was early for a dinner date so I stopped by the bookstore, but I spent so long browsing that I was suddenly 30 minutes late and panic bought the 4 books next to the book I meant to buy.

Bookshelves at the bookstore filled with an assortment of books, presumably all romance since that’s the section I was browsing. I took this picture because I didn’t have time to look through all the titles, and I PANICKED. ALL CAPS.

More books I didn’t get to look through on the kind of shelves that feel like a lived in home library versus a cold bookstore. This bookstore felt really lived-in, y’now? Like the kind of bookstore from the movie You’ve Got Mail. Everywhere you turn there are more piles of books. Paperbacks, hardcovers all mixed in. I don’t even think they were alphabetized, which I kind of like. This is the kind of bookstore that asks that you keep an open mind when you enter. Pure whimsy.

My book haul of three hardbacks, 2 paperbacks. I got the sequel to the book I’m currently reading. The sequel is called Broken Dove by Dani Francis.

There’s also Blood Rains Down by HM Wolfe, White Horse Black Nights by Evie Marceau, In the Veins of the Drowning by Kalie Cassidy, and Trial of the Gods by JL Jackola. I’ve never heard of any of the last four books. I just grabbed them because they were near the sequel I wanted and I had to GO. I was late to a dinner date. Could I have invited the guy into the bookstore? Sure. It was next to the restaurant. And he would have bought my books. Ugh, a missed opportunity, I suppose, but also, a man standing next to me while I’m StoryGraph searching every single title is giving, “Why would a man be there?”

If you can get this on Amazon (if not, DM me and I’ll help you), this saved my life when I had a 3 month cough this spring. I couldn’t breathe without coughing. I couldn’t speak without coughing. Did you know you can buy pineapple dole whip in the morherfucking STORE?? And it’s INCREDIBLE. Oh my god, it’s so good. I have one little treat cup almost every day, I don’t give a FUCK what the calories on these bitches are. This is ambrosia to me. Mother’s milk. God’s forbidden fruit. Why is it so good??

It’s in a bright yellow and green box with little pineapple chunks and what I’m assuming is a tiki bar theme, and that’s delightful in the freezer. I think you can also buy these in pints but the box of four small cups is perfect. And you are perfect.
