FIFA has been for decades nothing but a corrupt clique that partnered with criminals and dictators to steal football from us. Only for power and money. But we are fans and love this precious sport so much that every four years we still put up with their crap. It's getting more difficult every time.
Part of a long history of arrogance. I remember seeing De Boer on live Dutch TV saying that “Turkey is a modest team” after losing to them in the mid-90s. Hiddink called them then “a mediocre opponent.” www.volkskrant.nl/sport/laat-c...:
Same with the Spanish channel I’m paying to watch the FIFA World Cup in Spain. They can’t even properly spell the country names… in Spanish!
We don’t usually see each others headers. Here’s mine. Quote post with yours (if you feel like it)
By praising the genocidal Dutch East India Company (VOC in Dutch) and “capitalism’s full potential,” never before has an AI booster made the neocolonialist, exploitative nature of the AI industry as explicitly clear as Milei does in his FT article. www.ft.com/content/f930...

And they cite Mollick, “the AI expert and bestselling author of Co-Intelligence,” not once, not twice, but thrice. The same guy who believes that “we have never built a generally applicable technology that can boost our intelligence”…
I’m not sure I’m actually happy you have, because N&T has become my default mental model for approaching current reality…
Can adding boiling water to a bowl of instant Knorr Carbonara Pasta teach students to cook better?
…and before that, redefining technology to mean machinery developed by men.
We wrote something along these lines with @javisamo.bsky.social in our AI&Society paper about “AI assistants” link.springer.com/article/10.1...
This is callousness disguised as concern for mental well-being. Absolutely sociopathic. hbr.org/2026/03/why-...
There are caveats about AI making doctors more efficient, but the screenwriters of “The Pitt” get the rest quite right. (s02e05)
This one is a new flavour: warning OTHERS to be careful about believing that machines are conscious while YOU YOURSELF fall for a very similar trap.
