Trains, Travel and Transit 🚂🌎🚇 Find me on Youtube:
What a ride on the Adriatic Express 🚆🌅 The train’s only direct carriage to Warsaw? Not found in Koper, staff had no clue. It showed up eventually after 90 min waiting on the platform in Ljubljana Now our train has been evacuated near Tychy after we broke the overhead wires Warsaw tonight? Maybe 😂
Spent a couple of days in the UK for our little YouTuber get-together and some cool trains! 🇬🇧🚆 And now that I apparently make bus videos too, I’ve decided to try RegioJet’s premium London–Prague service overnight bus. 18 hours in a solo panorama seat let’s go! 🚌🇨🇿
It's probably going to be a unreliable mess, but it really does seem to be the plan at the moment! In DSB case, unreliable Talgos are better than non-existent IC5s... See appendixes from the Vectron tender or this presentation ted.europa.eu/en/notice/-/... drive.google.com/file/d/1gb7Y...
More nonsense. 3 days before departure, the train was moved 30 min later, instead of the nice booked Velaro, we’ve been "blessed" with a duck in possibly the worst-aligned seats imaginable. Such a shame. Spain has the most HSR track in Europe, yet it’s the network I enjoy using the least by miles.
They only just boarded the 11am back to Madrid. So if that's any indication, I'm in for a long 5-6h wait here in Ourense 😑
Spanish HSR might be the worst in the world 😅🇪🇸🚆 Avril is a horrible low-quality train, cheap nasty 2+2 seatsin first class 🤢, ride quality so rough there's now turbulence on trains😭 Infrastructure is broken, our train got cancelled in Ourense after a 2h delay. Now to fight my way back to Madrid 😬
All aboard the retro sleeper to Bucharest! Yes that loco is really running with one window stitched together with some tape 🤣🇷🇴
🍽️ Romanian dining cars are so back! Even if the layout is still incredibly strange... 😅 IC 531 from Bucharest to Cluj and Arad is now meant to have one, and it's great to see proper restaurant cars returning to CFR's flagship trains. 🚆
Talgo time! Let’s just say I wasn’t exactly impressed… but worst of all, there’s no currywurst in the bistro 😱 🇩🇪
Lol ofc as soon as I hit send on that, we come to a halt as there is a points failure in Sorø causing delays 😭🤣
First KBH Hamburg train of the day: Talgo ❌ ⏩ Replaced by IC3 ✅ Second Talgo of the day: ❌Canceled outright. Luckily the morning ComfortJet I've booked is running! ✅ Off to Berlin on a complicated routing! (Spoiler, not taking the ComfortJet all the way) Not very busy this morning!
Slim chances of this going ahead at the end of the month i think. I'm gonna note they are only selling Bohumín to Frankfurt, but nothing in the other direction from Frankfurt. Almost as if they forgot to remove it from sale! My original Przemyśl to Frankfurt ticket still hasn’t been cancelled...
Crisis is over. An unclaimed window seat in the Panorama car has been found! Roll on the next 9 hours to Graz 🇦🇹 🇨🇭
Incredible display from SBB today The first class carriages have swapped position, so of course they have flipped the seat reservations too 🙄 Panorama reservations are now in the non-panorama car and vice versa! Oh, and we left Zürich 5 minutes late because the train arrived late 🙃
I’ve had enough of France and nonsense open-access operators that keep cancelling and ruining the trains I’ve booked with them. So now I’m off to a country with functional trains 🇨🇭😅
It’s long been rumoured that DSB and Vy were looking into running DSB’s new Talgos direct from Copenhagen to Oslo. However, using DB Talgos, with a restaurant car, twice daily and all the way from Berlin to Oslo, was definitely not on my bingo card 🇩🇪 🇩🇰 🇸🇪 🇳🇴🚆 www.dsb.dk/om-dsb/press...
Where European Sleeper is unable to deliver, Ouigo can pick up the slack. To ES’ credit, we arrived in Mons on time, so there was just enough time to connect onto this Ouigo to Paris. It will even arrive before the sleeper was scheduled to, and probably before the replacement buses too 😅
I don’t even know where to start with European Sleeper tonight 🫠 We left late, the carriage numbers messed up, so it took 30 minutes before I was in the correct carriage. 1 hour before departure I got an email saying the train won’t even go to Paris Really living up to that €300+ price tag 🤡🚆
Made it to Prague 1h late in the end after technical issues in Berlin, which spiralled from +35 to +60 as we missed our path 🫠 Far from a perfect journey, and it’s a long one for sure, but the ComfortJet really is a great train for it, even on these ultra-long day trains 🚆🇩🇰🇩🇪 🇨🇿
Made it to Hamburg Altona, where we swap to one of these new Czech “Thrashtron” locos 🚂🇨🇿 Eventually, these will be approved for Denmark and remove the need to switch locos in Hamburg Temporarily there is a 90 min layover in Altona due to the prolonged Hamburg Berlin closure, giving us a bad path.
Complimentary water, coffee and a small snack are available for First Class passengers, as well as paid at-seat service from the restaurant car! So far, I’m having an enjoyable time. We’re about to enter Germany though, so the delays might be about to begin 😂
13 hours in first class on the new ComfortJet connection from Copenhagen to Prague. Let’s do this 👀🚆
I hope DSB installs whatever TTS/AI voice system ČD has on their ComfortJets on their Talgos too. It sounds so much better! No more “Cul-ding” 😅
Arrived into Stockholm with a delay of around 1.5 hours. It’s been a long day, but the train is comfy and the dining car is a great way to pass the time! 🚆🍽️ Perhaps not the most useful train for just Hamburg to Stockholm, but it opens up a lot of direct connections between cities in 🇩🇪, 🇩🇰 and 🇸🇪
Well, I won't be recommending GoVolta then. 2 days out, they cancelled the entire train, seemingly for their own operational convenience, and replaced it with a single bus. If I wanted to travel by bus to Hamburg, I would have booked FlixBus 🙄 Safe to say I'll be pushing for a refund.
Made it to Padborg, around +90 min now For some reason our train was routed via the Flensburg loop, (signalling mistake?) Then we had to wait in Padborg for an oncoming train on the single-track section to Tinglev. 🥲 Seems like DSB is running their cancelled Talgo empty back to CPH behind us 👀🚆
However, things could always be worse. Snälltåget is at least actually running. Meanwhile in DSB land, the Talgos are ofc an unreliable shitshow. The late morning train is cancelled, and the early morning one replaced by IC1 😂 Kudos to Snälltåget for honouring DB/DSB tickets on their train today.
Welcome onboard the first Snälltåget day train from Hamburg to Stockholm 🇩🇪🇸🇪 We’re an hour late, as German rail infrastructure seems determined to destroy every train launch in May. I’ve got one of the few solo seats for the 11.5-hour journey, plus a dinner reservation in the restaurant car 😋🍴
Good morning from Prague! Time for a joyride on the new ComfortJet service to Copenhagen 👀 Only heading as far as Hamburg today, but I’ll be back in a couple of days to ride the full route and really put it to the test, bringing you a detailed review of the entire journey and onboard experience 😉
This was not where I expected to be tonight, but it’s definitely an upgrade over doing 10 hours in a seat for no reason, so I can’t complain too much 🤣 €50 for a last-minute booking in a shared 3-person “sleeper” - not bad. Hopefully it stays empty to Prague 🤞
