The wind warning from the NZ weather service is only orange, not red, because gusts are “only” up to 130km/hr I think they dun goofed on this one and it’ll be bad tomorrow though

I may have just bought a giant 3-tier brewing system as I can't resist a bargain. I have no idea what I'm doing... anyone want to help me spurge my grist into wort? (I have no idea what that means 😂). Plan is to make it available to anyone nice. Just need somewhere in Wellington for it to live!

Lots of valid "AI is shit" on takes on here but it's taken me maybe 20 minutes of no-code tweaking with AI to import the Epstein email dump into an Elasticsearch to the point where I can visualise a timeline based on a free text search of 1926 emails. All emails with 'thiel' by year and sender 👀

Found out why the Wellington Hospital has been so busy at night lately. The only 24hr Afterhours Medical Centre in Wellington is shut due to staff shortages. NZ’s health system is borked! #NZPol

Just reading through the full report, strange the media aren’t following up the fact that the IPCA were alerted in 2018 and just brush it off!

Highlighted text:

11. Issue 7 of this report sets out the IPCA's involvement in the matter and describes actions we have taken, and have committed to take, to address any deficiencies in our complaint receipt and handling. Several people we spoke to told us that one of their considerations when failing to act on complaints made against Deputy Commissioner McSkimming, was that the IPCA had known about the matter for years, had investigated and had found there was no substance to the complaints. While it may be true to say that, by virtue of being tagged in a Facebook post in 2018, we had some knowledge, we did not have any further context until 2023. More importantly, senior officers knew that we had not in fact investigated, let alone found there was no substance.
