It’s been a summer of precious acquisitions for my miniature collection. Here are some of the vintage, antique, and rare gems I added. 💎🏺💎⚱️ They that span the late 1930s all the way to the 1990s🌟🌟🌟 Stay tuned for the story behind the haul! ✨ #perfumesky #vintageperfume
Iconic was created by @perfumer-pia.bsky.social as a personal tribute to 1980s nostalgia, invoking the scent of cold creams, cosmetics, and vanity tables.🧴 🪶 💄 🪞 I’m impressed by the entire Olfiction collection! Well done, Pia and Nick @nickrgilbert.bsky.social 👏🏻 More soon! 👀 #perfumesky
Just Like Honey by Maher Olfactive is a raw kind of honey with a woody, earthy flavor and traces of voluptuous flowers and fluffy pollen. This honey coats bolder ingredients: resins, tobacco, and patchouli. 🐝🍯🍂 Do you like honey in perfume? Typically not a favorite note for me. #perfumesky
How Dare I by the New York-based brand CERA SINE CERA. 🏙️ A long-lasting perfume oil that lists cherry but smells like citrus and apples (Granny Smith or Pink Lady). 🍏🍎 The #skyperfume is quite small community but consider joining me for #travelsizetuesday and highlight smaller bottles!
One of my favorite summer discoveries was Nero Speziale, a collection of three fragrances created for DESAAR, a fragrance store in Pescara, Italy. All three fragrances are inspired by the historic figure of the “speziale”, an alchemist who traditionally created herbal remedies. 🌿🪴 #perfumesky
Les Introuvables miniature set by L4lique is a precious recent addition to my collection. ⭐️💫🌟 ✨ Les Elfes (2002) ✨ Sylphide (2000) ✨ Sirènes (2001) “The Unfindables” collection includes crystal bottles influenced by Art Nouveau, depicting the female form, spirits, and water creatures.
I took 4 trips in 2 and a half months and I’m getting ready for the 5th! 🧳 I’m packing two fragrances that feature lush and radiant florals: 💐 Caldera Flower by @witandwest.com 🌼 Aloha Lei by @fumfragrances.com What are you wearing these days? #perfumesky #fragrancesky
I thank the pastry chef, Marcello, for this beautiful gift alongside jellies infused with Hibiscus Love by Amouage—another feast for both taste and olfaction! 🌺🍬
🍓🫧 Luisant Haze 🍓🫧 is the latest fragrant release by Thomas de Monaco. Cold spices (pink pepper and cardamom) blend with a wild strawberry note to create a mist of tiny, shiny bubbles that you can almost feel with the tip of your nose. 👃🏻🫧 #perfumesky #fragrancesky
I was locked out of my account for several days while traveling and just re-entered! Lots of sniffing! 👃🏻✨ Exciting news: I’ll be facilitating a panel at Scent Fest in San Francisco. If you’re attending, join me on June 27 for “Perfumers as Protagonists” Details in photo ⬇️
Flowers and blooms that scent and color the month of June: 🌼 Passiflora (spot a little friend 🐝 on the flower) 🌼 Linden blossom tree (their scent is inebriating) 🌼 Broom (often overlooked, it smells like honey, hay, and sunshine ☀️)

“Fair Daffodils, we weep to see You haste away so soon;” Robert Herrick - To Daffodils Photos of Poet’s narcissus (Narcissus poeticus) taken in early May. 🌼🤍 #poetsnarcissus #daffodils #flowers #poetry #narcissusflower
Malìa Nobile 1942 embodies magic because it was created for a modern witch, a sorceress full of wit and verve. 🧙🏻🌟 The scent of narcotic fruits peaches seamlessly blends into the floral spice of osmanthus, with a few handfuls of marjoram thrown in the bubbly brew. 🔮🧪✨ Blog review in comments 👇🏻

Along with perfume bottle history, classic beauty, and unique finds, the International Perfume Bottle convention hosted three Chicago-based indie brands that exhibited alongside the vintage perfume vendors. 🌟🌟🌟 🔐 Clue Perfumery 🎀 Pearfat Parfum 💚 Domestica Perfume Are you familiar with them?
More gems from the International Perfume Bottle convention. 💎 Guess what’s in the lockets? 👀✨

More shots from the International Perfume Bottle Association convention in Chicago. 🪞👛 I learned so much about antique bottles thanks to lifelong collectors who take pride in curating their unique collections. I felt at home! The piece in the last two pictures dates back to the 1860s. ✨
The Perfume Passage Soirée was the first event as part of the International Perfume Bottle Association convention held in Chicago. ✨ Stay tuned for more! In the next few weeks, I’ll be also working on a piece for my blog about my entire experience at this extraordinary event. ✍🏻🌟
“Out of the gravel there are peonies growing. They come up through the loose grey pebbles, their buds testing the air like snail’s eyes, then swelling and opening, huge dark-red flowers all shining and glossy like satin. Then they burst and fall to the ground.” Margaret Atwood - Alias Grace
In my article for Heart Note Press, I bring back the 1980s through doll-scented fragrances (and I actually lived through the decade 😉). 👛 🎀 💗 heartnotepress.com/reviving-the...
An episode about the Brontë sisters on the @foxedquarterly podcast renewed my interest in Anne Brontë and her novels, which I neglected in my younger years in favor of Emily’s and Charlotte’s books. ⚜️📚 Which one should I start with? 📖 Read about the fragrance pairing in the comments ⬇️ 🌼🌱💚

After reading an old journal written during a trip to New Zealand, one particular entry made me reflect on the green smells of my memories. 🍃 Excited about my piece for the Verdant Visions issue of The Scent Strip magazine @immortalperfumes.bsky.social 💚🪴🍃✨ #perfumewriting #perfumesky
In Anaïs Anaïs by Cacharel, hyacinth is one of the flowers in a garden dotted with dew. It seems to add a pale green hue, a bracing quality, and a moist sensation, along with lily of the valley, lily, and rose, as if to form a veil of misty air. The a mossy base imparts an aura of mystery. 🪷🪻🌿
Poudrextase by Marlou is sophisticated and sensuous, but also musky, cheeky, and even a little insolent. 🌹 The scent of high-end rose lotion and rose water in a slept-in room, filled with the smell of clay, rancid face makeup, talcum powder, and remnants of human skin and hair on lace. 🌹🪞🪶
A glorious spring day, both sunny and crisp, ☀️ calls for Tobacco Rose by @papillonartisanperfumes. 🦋 A truly regal and severe rose with all its botanical components, infused with hay, oakmoss, mineral undertones, and light. 🥀🍃🪨✨ www.isniffbeforeisleep.com/papillon-tob... #perfumesky #rose
Body oils may be my favorite scented products after fragrances. ✨✨✨ Here are some of my picks in indie, popular, and even discontinued categories. 💖 #bodyoils #fragrancesky
I write a lot about perfume, and I can usually find a way to describe fragrances and scents. Every now and then though there are fragrances that leave me at a loss for words. Exultat by Maria Candida Gentile is one of those fragrances. 💜✨ Read more in the comments ⬇️
