Overlanding Northern America with breaks back home in NZ with my kids. Techie from way back.
That is NOT a kiwi! The beak is too short. It stands like a penguin! This is a kiwi.
Coming from a nation that doesn’t even do political bumper stickers the in-your-face cultish behaviour is really odd.
3 generations and we’re just a footnote. As it should be. Some do exceptional things like Louis Braille, others are remembered for being monsters but most of us are only special to those who actually knew us.
An unbelievable sight in New Zealand. Alternative Health used to harmless at its worst and potentially helpful. Now it’s plain dangerous!
A lovely, dry winter @ingress First Saturday in Auckland, New Zealand. Thanks to RTC1 for the banner and @grogyan.bsky.social for managing the stats.
Oh I'm very sure. I just wanted their insurance details, they had admitted fault. They chose to call the cops. What might have been a deadly accident turned into a funny travel story. Bruises fade etc. Just nice to have a positive American cop story.
I was there as the latest heatwave was ramping up. Wouldn't have changed my plans at all!
I'm in France, and yes it's bloody hot! But rather than ask people if they'll get aircon maybe the on-the-street reporters should be asking about attitudes to climate change? France could teach NZ a thing or two about cycling. It's impressive everywhere we go. I've never seen so many cargo bikes!
Munich airport is paralyzed after a drone alert Munich Airport is currently on high alert following a drone incident, and all air traffic has been suspended. Both runways are affected, and the airport is completely closed.
There was a thing on insta a few years back about showing your dog's Tinder photo and then the real one. That photo matches the vibe.
That's a fun wee bike though. I'd rather gave that than the bmw. I've had both the cbr and the Cbx.
I did love having the dog on the right to visit. His fur is so soft while my best boy was rough-coated. If kids were brave enough I'd get them to pat both and compare. Such lovely moments in a day.
But then, I am probably dangerously naive about bears. All our encounters were amazing but had the potential to go bad. It must be amazing to live in their habitat!
It depends. We saw a Mumma bear & 2 cubs last year. They were on the far side of a fire break. She saw the cars, & our motorbikes & was chill. She spooked & sent the babies off up a tree, the cars & campers left & she called them back down. More cars stopped. We all kept our engines running!
We got to ride through just after it opened last year. What a delight! So glad we got to see it!
NZ has suffered two hacks of major medical information systems and I’m horrified that my GP uses a system that appears to be incompetent. Lets start with the fact that it says it’s running on sample code…
Someone's having a bad day in Ponsonby! Does anyone know which building? I hope everyone is ok.
