No fires nearby. We do have a heatwave plus brown skies and bad air quality as smoke drifts in from the OR, WA and BC #wildfires. Leo has to wait for his pool time but The Engineer has filled it up for thirsty deer, and other mammals. Bird and bee baths are also full, and getting a lot of action

Today is Rose’s Gotcha Day. Here she is multitasking with The Engineer in 2010. She is a “failed foster” and is so bonded with my husband that I refer to her as his Second Wife. She has us (and the dog) well trained, and we adore her. #kittens #cats

This is my mom’s rescue, Sally Pal. Mom trained her to work as a therapy dog in hospital cancer wards. She was brave smart, and sweet. Very empathetic. We took her, and her cat, Annie, into our family 8 years later, after Mom passed. She was BFFs with our dog, Lucy. Lived to 17 💖 Best dog ever #dogs

Last night we got some of the loudest thunder I’ve ever heard. Lots of lightning, too. Our dog Leo (93 pounds) was so scared he slept in the bed with us. Our cat, Rose, soon joined us. Storm went on for hours, so when I say slept … Here is a big yawn from little Rose. I know just how she feels.

Her Ladyship is napping in a sunny spot in front of a window with a view of the birds on top of some comfy, clean laundry … as one does. Our dog Leo, not wishing to disturb her peace, decided to retrieve his Kong at a later date. He was awarded a cookie for discretion. #cats #dogs #SeniorCats

Happy #Caturday 🐈‍⬛ Here is our boy Leo, ace foster kitten nanny, and all around good boy.

A large golden German Shepherd mix named Leo is laying on the floor calmly watching two tabby foster kittens playing with a wand toy I dropped in front of them. Both kittens are inches away from Leo’s big, black shepherd nose, and both feel perfectly safe in his company. The baby tabbies have raised, happy tales and are definitely not done playing so Leo is being patient as he knows everyone gets fed soon, including him. His walk and favorite treats will soon follow.
