I once saw a woman run up on a curb, but then she stopped, and so I thought, I guess I don't have to call the cops. Ten minutes later she sped into traffic stopped at a red light and killed two people.
The only thing I miss about Twitter was the platform for shaming brands. Poor show Dyson.
The hummingbirds are not my favorite part of living here, except for when we're having breakfast together by the pool. Cities aren't loud, cars are loud(and in LA all the damn helicopters).
The AIs are just such sycophants. It creeps me out. Everyone can't be this narcissistic, can they? I was just grabbing dinner.
Getting stronger and stronger. Maybe one day, I'll be able to set max assist in traffic and still be most of the power.
My ride to/from physical therapy yesterday on my 250W max gravel Canyon. I rode a Dogma at the shop two weeks ago. 4kph higher top speed. Fewer watts. Competing with cars the entire time for both rides. I'm perfectly happy to let Grandma decide if she wants to go 20mph vs 28mph on a bicycle.
The car brain in America is egregious. American insurance is insanely bad. The medical costs are extraordinary. What is she complaining about instead? The parking! 🙃
Ah, I just missed it, but you can probably see where he was coming from. Just total incompetence. Give them lanes this wide and they still drift half a foot into the bicycle lane. Streets downtown should be designed to destroy the vehicles of drivers this incompetent.
I did find where they broke out LIFE. Apparently $25M was old info. Looks like it's $34M now.
If LA made their buses fare free, it would impact less than 2% of their revenue and may directly free up more than twice as much money that they are currently spending on fare collection, fare enforcement, and fare exemption. @ohtheurbanity.bsky.social
Working on a Sunday, but when this is where you're working, how can you feel anything but blessed?
Car people are sheep that have been guided by a battery of policy incentives. Saying that consumers aren't shaped by the incentives requires ignoring all of the massive pro car subsidies and policy incentives of the last 70 years.
Santa Monica desperately needs congestion pricing. It is served by six bus systems and light rail. Plus, the people driving through are the most insufferable and entitled pricks outside of Manhattan.
LA after the rain is the most beautiful place on Earth. LA should ban cars. It could be like this 350 days a year.
You give yourself too little credit. I did this on a gravel bike between spine surgeries. I've seen well over 80kph on Strava around here. Are we going to ban gravity assist?
And now I'm thinking of riding my bike. Are we sure rest days are not just what happens when you keel over from exhaustion?
Apparently, Youtube recommends "Christian" music at me now because I listened to George Michael. 😵💫 If you needed one more reason to the game where you see how fast into December you can go without hearing this song...
