I have fallen in love with these 2 vintage baby quilts. Both needed new bindings; green one needed 2 holes covered. I don't know which I like it better. What do you think?
I hate when I forget to take a "before" pic! I remembered when there was just one block left to do. Another dog related injury for this sweet throw. Had to rebuild the middle section. Love using a vintage button for tiny holes. Mailing home today.
Before and after of latest repair. Gave client price for repairing both sides or just one. She chose to do only one with new binding on both. Also chose not to have pieces replaced in middle section. I am always happy to work with someone's budget.
Ties are so much fun to work with! Client's husband is retired. He asked for a quilt. Oriental fabric from my stash set off the ties nicely. Funny thing is that husband used to quilt and he had gifted me the fabric from his stash about 6 months ago. Queen size.
Maybe this one? I try to match the time period of the quilt or find something that blends. I have a vintage stash so that helps. If not sure, I lay the fabric on quilt, leave and come back, then I can see if it works. Hope that helps!
Before and after of latest repair. Client decided to have me remove some of top and bottom rather than rebuild them. New binding with vintage fabric. Then covered 4 rectangle blocks on one side and 17 on the other. Tightened seams all around. I love this 2-sided quilt!
Last two repair projects. Pinwheels just put some blocks back together. The other tightened up bunch of seams and put new binding on using vintage fabric from my stash. I love vintage quilts!!
Irish chain with family photos commissioned by a sweet lady for her stepdaughter. Queen size. Has been gifted so I have permission to share.
Latest commission for a super creative client. Dresden plates out of dachund fabric with her two babies peeping in. Button flowers for bows. Had so much fun with this. Next for her is a tie medallion queen in July.
Quilts displayed at Frist Art Museum in Nashville. And info about the artist. Amazing. Showed featured female artists from TN. Check it out if you are around Nashville!
King size picked up Friday. I love the variety of shirts in this one.
Two quilts for same client. First is a repair, some flowers and new binding. The other was a Xmas gift. Daughter's shirts with hearts and butterflies. Very fun!
Another repair done! Love Grandmother's Garden. Will share full quilt in next post
A before and after of a one block repair. I love how different color combinations change the look of the block. Bonus: I just love yellow vintage quilts!
Snowed in today. Luckily I got to bring stuff home to work on. Took over the whole downstairs. Tshirt quilt is the first project. Pepper and Bonnie B are supposed to be supervising
What to do when you have 2 granddaughters and one quilt? Both want it. Well, you have someone divide it in half after repairs! Covered 8 while middles, 15 ovals, 10 4 patches and 61 small assorted color squares. Put binding on cut edge. Whew! Enjoyed it but glad this project is done!
Wall hanging I created back in the day for a fabric challenge with the blue. Hand appliqued, hand quilted with beading on crest of wave. Titled "Ridin' the Wave" had fun with it!
Just finished this Queen size tshirt quilt. Sunflower fabric on the back
I love when clients have an idea for their quilts! This lady loves red white and blue and this is the result.
All quilted and black binding on! Gotta let my client know then On to the next...
Finally have the top together. Of course I figured wrong and only made enough for half a top. Had to spend a day making more! Math is not easy for me. Tomorrow, put on my longarm and quilt, then binding.
Next project is with baby blankets!! Stay tuned to see what happens to them
