Another portland/Tonya tidbit. Her famous early 90s do was nicknamed, “The Clackamas Claw”. Clackamas, OR being part of Tonyatown territory. So called “Deep Southeast”, now, generally called “The Numbers”, was looked down upon as a place where under educated, rough folk with poor taste lived

I’m used to mushrooms in Frank Frazetta and Wm Stout pictures being “symbolic”, but wow!
Oh, that will be me again. I think it depends on who he was inking and like any artist, the period of his career. I’m pretty sure Kirby liked his inks. Yeah, some of his pen work broke up in the old print process, but I think he adapted. I don’t know enough about his pencilling work.
Also a good idea not to proclaim, loudly, to the world, that the people you are negotiating with are “kissing your ass”
