Recently finished, after a long seven month journey, Ulysses. It's undeniably a mastercraft of a book, with some of the most beautiful and creative writing I have ever seen in a book. The one problem is friends asking if I recommend it after all this time and replying immediately "no" lol
And my monitor is dying. This isn't a shadow being cast from another light, that dark patch is inside the monitor. I've only had it for five years. BenQ says it'll cost too much to fix. I'm very tired.
Goddamn, the new Ghost in the Shell is fantastic. Absolutely slick and fun. Going to be looking forward to keeping up with that.
Death of discs on Playstation sucks. The Playstation store sucks. Physical game prices go down over time, but on Sony's own store they just sit at full price. If you don't buy during infrequent sale periods, you're getting ripped off. Now you get less choice and Playstation gets the profits.
Humour in Deltarune is like how Roger Ebert describes Zucker brothers comedies, even though the style is so different. You laugh once at the joke, and then laugh at yourself for laughing at something so stupid but wonderful. It's masterful stuff, and I love it.
I refinished Bioshock 2 a while ago and have been thinking about it a lot. I like it more than when I played it at launch, but I still can't get on the side of people saying it's the best one. It's very good, and plays much better than 1, but it's very beholden to 1 in ways it can't rectify.

This might be a "level-one on the iceberg" observation, but I'm pretty sure Andrew Ryan is half-cut in most of his audio logs. It's like everyone in Rapture is sad and drunk and the only thing they can talk to is a tape recorder they will throw in a bin for some reason.

Been doing a little bit of Devil Daggers each morning and hit 268 seconds. Technically over halfway to 500 seconds, but I imagine it's like Runescape skills where the real half of 99 is 92. Meeting Gigapedes was... harrowing. Still, cool! My dagger is blinged.
In less doom and gloom news I finally played through Ultrakill's 8th Layer update. It's phenomenal but I forgot Hakita does not care if you're rusty and out of practice lol

This is *fucking hideous* good lord! It just utterly destroys the image and the intent behind it. It's like playing with several dozen bad Fallout mods + reshades slapped on thoughtlessly. It isn't upscaling, it's ruining.

Happy anniversary Life is Strange Abridged! Amazing what can come from the boredom of working at a booze shop and barely surviving a university degree. Wouldn't be making the stuff I do now without it. Thanks to everyone who's been with me, for a long or short while. Cheers!
