new band name just dropped

Extra-good muffins
Combine 2 cups unsifted whole wheat flour and 1½ to 2 cups unsifted all-purpose flour; set aside. Scald 1¼ cups milk. Stir in ¼ cup sugar, 2% tsps. salt, ¼ cup margarine and ½ cup hon-ey. Measure ½ cup warm water into large warm bowl. Sprinkle in 2 pkgs. active dry yeast; stir until dissolved. Add lukewarm milk mix-ture. Stir in enough of the flour mixture to make a very thick batter. Stir until well blend-ed. Cover; let rise in warm place free from draft until doubled, about 45 minutes. Stir batter down. Mix in ½ cup finely chopped apple and ½ cup chopped pecans. Spoon into well-greased muffin cups. Cover; let rise in warm place until doubled, about 30 minutes. Bake in preheated 400-degree oven about 20 minutes, or until done. Remove from pans and cool on wire racks. Makes about 18 muffins.
